Now that Ben Freeman has been proved innocent of rape, will Scott Dingle return to Emmerdale? What will happen to Debbies small empire.?

He was a 26 year old man who had sex with a 16 year old child without a condom... what kind of man like that deserves his job back?

I do hope not.  The character has been more or less forgotton and I dont feel sorry at all for the actor, he should have kept it in his trousers.  As someone else said, Reality TV beckons.

I agree that Ben Freeman is not an admirable person and neither is Scott Windsor but Freeman did not commit rape and its an awful thing to have your life ruined by such a terrible lie. It seems his behavior has often been bad where women are concerned but maybe he has learned his lesson. However I also agree that I would not like to see him back in the Dales.

I am quite shocked at some responses to the Ben Freeman issue. He was introduced to 16 year old by her MOTHER!! Yes I would have thought that common sense should have told Ben to be cautious as with hindsight we have seem how this introduction has led to the FALSE aligation, loss of renewed contract, remortgage of his previously bought and paid for house and 2 year battle to clear his name!!

I can't help but think that if Scott Windsor's character was a more likeable character people's opinion would be different. Throughout the whole affair Ben Freeman has not committed ANY crime - he met and slept with someone 10 years his junior NOT A CRIME. All he is guilty of is having a bad judgement of character and how many of us can say we have been right about all the people in our life 1st time.

At the end of the day I would like to see Ben Freeman back in the show even if its just for a short period to tie up the loose ends of his business and for ITV to show that they care about a former employee that has been vindicated and help him return to his line of work.

I hope Scott will come back too. The Emmerdale bosses seem open to the idea and Ben will need a job - if only so he can pay for his defence.

There are a lot of actors out of work... not just Ben Freeman. If Emmerdale take him back, there will be uproar. I remember the case of John Leslie who was also acquitted, but he wasnt welcomed back to ITV

Ben On The Other Hand Has The Ability To Utilize All The Media Avenues, A Myriad Of Talk Shows & Print Media To " Re-hab His Image " & State His Truth Of The Event For All To See & Read. He Will Continue To Have His Supporters & Critic's, That Is The Nature Of Being a Celebrity, Can He Resurrect His Career ? Time Will Tell, Should He Return To Emmerdale ? That's Up To I.T.V., Emmerdale Producers & Ben Himself, £100,000 Contracts Sure Help The Bank Balance. It Seems He Has Good Family Support & A Girlfriend Who Is Standing By Him. Good Luck To Him. I've No Doubt We Will Be Seeing More Of Him On The "Merry-Go-Round " Of Chat Show's In The Coming Week's.

It will be interesting to see if the young lady does keep her anonimity or sell her story - this will be the key thing that will sway doubters about what happened.
