I have difficulty respecting the opinions of both the non-skaters who sit in judgement.
Personally I would welcome one, or both, of them being replaced by last years winner, on a rolling annual basis.
They at least can relate to what the skaters are going through and are likely to be far more constructive in their criticism compared to Jason.
After all it has worked out very well using the beautiful Cheryl Tweedy on the X-Factor.

I am so angry - Ruth completely spoilt last nights show for me - how DOUBLE DARE SHE - question the integrity of a professional judge, when she know little to nothing about skating. I cannot understand why she is there in the first place. It was a brilliant show, made all the better by Todd's antics - he was so funny, but this Monster comes along and spoils the whole atmosphere. Well done to Nickie for not loosing his rag with her and for sticking by his guns. And well done to all the brilliant and gutsy dancers.
Its about time ITV reconsidered their decision to bring her onto this great show.

Re: TIME FOR RUTHIE TO GO
OMG I have to agree with everyone on this. Im afraid I didnt take to her last year, but Saturday was the nail in the coffin. How dare she speak to Nicky like this. She completely showed herself up. How common.... I think the time has come to rethink the judging panel for next series. !!!!!!!!!

It seems to me that this pathetic debate over the views and opinions of the 'non-skating' judges surfaces needlessly every year. Yes Ruthie and Jason have no experience on the ice, but they are there (as is pointed out on every live show) to judge the overall PERFORMANCE of the celebrities, NOT their skating ability. That is why they are there, to give a different angle to the skating judges.
In regards to your spiteful comments about Ruthie's comments, I think that some of you should rewatch the show and take into account that the statements she made were in fact justified, even if she did butt in to the conversation. Ruthie rarely does speak over other judges, but I do feel that on this occasion she was justified in doing so. As for you thinking that Ruthie has decided to behave in a manner similar to Jason in order to get herself more airtime - what a load of rubbish - I'm certain Ruthie Henshall has far more important things to worry about in life that the amount of airtime she gets on the judging panel of a reality tv show.

Thank you Ash. I don't know how many times it needs to be said that Ruthie and Jason are there from a performance and coreography point of view!
I totally believe that all the comments that Ruthie has made have been justified, she knows exactly what she is talking about. Why does anyone believe that Ruthie feels the need to behave in a manner similar to Jason to get more airtime?!! That is absolutely ridiculous!!! Most mature adults wouldn't feel the need to do this never mind someone with 22 years experience on the West End and Broadway stage!!! As Ash has said, Ruthie has far more important things to worry about.

jillydisco,
Firstly, my apologies for not stating that my comments were my opinion, I'd have thought that was obvious enough but never mind.
Secondly, I don't think (yes, thats my opinion) that you can compare the differences between performing on ice and performing on stage - the two are entirely different disciplines.
Thirdly (since you seem so picky about purplestars mistake), it's damN, yes it has an n in it - and thats fact not opinion.

ash87,
Thank you for your apology.
Secondly, I think you have in actual fact just confirmed what I was saying that you cannot compare performing on stage with dancing on ice, in which case what is she doing there? Jason is, unfortunately well enough equipped to comment on the performance aspect, I don't think another of that mould is needed, in my opinion.
Thirdly, I purposely left the N off dam because on other threads it is considered to be offensive and is blocked out, and I wouldn't want you or purplestars to think I had put anything stronger.

Hi jillydisco
I'm with you completely. It seems to me (in my opinion!) that whereas the professional skating judges take into consideration they are judging amateur skaters, Ruthie and Jason (particularly Jason) seem to ignore this fact and have far too high expectations. The fact that they are rude and hurtful too is ...... I think ..... totally unnecessary and unforgiveable. Are the skating judges ever rude, even when they've just watched a less than great performance? Phew got that off my chest.
