    Ray Quinn

This guy is winding me up. The fact is the guy is good at what he does, but to put him into this competition is a total farce.

How can the other skaters compete against him? People have winged about competitors that do not even get close to making the grade, TC and JS from the Beeb. But this is just as wrong. As it stands RQ is going to go all the way and win. This NOT NOT NOT right on any level.

DOI producers should be taken out and horse whipped. Make the show fare. Let every one have a chance of winning.

There is some fine skating going on with the others but with the jump from 23 to 30 in the scores. What is the point!!

If DOI is shown again next year I hope the playing field is level.

Completely agree! Also to Mark Ellery half a point above Colleen Who god bless her was shakey and pretty much carried round and a Point BELOW Roxanne who used 2 feet for the required element where he used 1 is a farce!! He Did sooooo much more that the girls who literally for some use minimal talent and get marked up on how nice their ARMS look!

    Re: Ray Quinn

I do agree that he is the best skater in the show, but surely someone should win because they have show how much they have achievd throughout the show rather than being great from the start.  It is also very obvious to me that even though Ray's performance was good, it was far from perfect, so therfore the six 6.0's were only given to him because it is the weekend of 25 years since Bolero. Next week they will simply give something like 5.5's and just say that he cant improve on the week before's performance. It was fixed this week.

    Re: Ray Quinn

totally agree with everything that's been said here.   We, thebritish public don't like the judges having favourites and it is "we" who vote for the winner.   So even though the judges will make sure Ray gets to the final, they have no say in who wins.   That's up to us!!!Wink

    Re: Ray Quinn

Sorry seti_neroon but this is not a farce, he happens to have a natural aptitude for ice skating which does happen every now and then.  Some have it (Ray) and some don't (Todd) and that’s what makes the world go around.

    Re: Ray Quinn

Sharon - Please don’t mistake my dislike of the Ray thing as dissing his ability. He is very good at what he does. The problem is that he is so far above the others that it is this that make is a problem. He is a pro dancer and skates on in lines. He has balance and has confidence. Yes he is good but this is not the point of the comp. The celebs should be on a level playing field. Todd had as much chance as most of the other but Ray was not a good choice when trying to set a fair competition.

    Re: Ray Quinn

No one can say Ray isn't an amazing skater, however it is highly evident that speed is his thing. If they want to really challenge him, they need to give him a ballad to skate to, a real slow programme which needs to be graceful, elegent and show some real emotion.

    Re: Ray Quinn

Good Idea. He is a speed freak so you are quite correct a slow intense programme will test his ability and go some way to levelling the field. Let’s see if the ITV people agree.

    Re: Ray Quinn

Jillydisco. The only time we can kick the guy out is the last week. As the final is puplic vote only. The only problem is the "younger" contingent who love the guy and so we will have to vote carefuly. He needs to go, not that he is not a good skater, he is, it is just so out of balance with the rest of the competition (nuts I am repeating myself).

    Re: Ray Quinn

Yes, I agree, Quinn must go. Not because he is the most talented skater- which he is. Not because he is young and presentable - which he is. Not even because he is from Liverpool.

No it's because there is only one person in RQ's life and that is him. I disagree with Niki who says he considers his partner - you only have to listen to him, I challenge you to count the number of times he states "me, me, me". He is a typical showbiz narcissist and for that reason alone needs to be voted off. He needs a reality check, that he is not the best thing or only person in the world and a touch of humility would not go amiss.

I understand that he is doing well, I understand that he is the best skater in the competition but self indulgent, camera hogging and conceit does not sit well with the British Public and I hope they see sense and send him to the bottom 2 for a few weeks.

    Zoe to win.

    Re: Ray Quinn

O seti - please - you say the only problem is the "younger" contingent - what on earth are you talking about ? I happen to be 65 and have been a professional dancer all my life but have always been unable to stay upright on the ice. I tried it many times when younger and it never seemed to work. Ray is brilliant and believe me being able to dance is no guarantee that you will be able to skate. Take it from one who knows !!! I shall be voting for Ray and if that means being branded the "younger" contingent then thank you very much.

    Re: Ray Quinn

Vivcosta - I get the feeling you have got the wrong end of the stick. I am saying that it is the "younger" contingent of voters that are voting for RQ. I am far from "ageist" and admire anyone who get on the ice and go for it. My complaint against the RQ thing is that he had more experience than anyone else and that this meant the competition was not fair. Most of the Skaters came to this ice with little or no skating background. RQ was as were you a pro dancer and he could roller blade. He had speed and confidence. Thus not a level playing field.

    Re: Ray Quinn

Seti - I think you're forgetting that last year Chris Fountain was an experienced ice hockey player, and he performed well from the start of the show, there was no criticism of him not making great improvements week on week. Suzanne had a great deal of dancing experience and had also done gymnastics which helped her with her poise and balance. In this years show, Jessica had already trained for another ice dancing programme, but had withdrawn from that, so it could be classed that she had an unfair advantage. Yes Ray does have roller blading experience, but many roller bladers are unable to stand up on the ice, never mind dance on it like he does.

Further, to say that Ray is not making progress week on week is wrong - he most certainly is! Rays' programmes get much more difficult week on week. It has been obvious that Ray has been pushed every week -  demonstrated in his fantastic 'split jump' this week. Why should Ray be punished because he is talented? I find it ridiculous that people are pulling Ray apart when Colleen is still on the show, the difference between what Ray and the others are doing and what Colleen is doing is worlds apart. This show is supposed to be dancing on ice - the best ice dancer is Ray Quinn, so why shouldnt he win?

    Re: Ray Quinn

Get a life all of you !!!! ITV know how brilliant the guy is - so they're trying to jeopardise any chance he has.  Last week's fiasco were he was given a hat as a prop which he had to fling half-way across the rink into his partner's hands is such a point - they may as well have given him a frisbee!!   The guy is a natural - tonight to ensure that yet again he doesn't make the rest of them look rubbish and that he doesn't sweep the board with 6's, they gave him Robin Cousins's "OLYMPIC" split move - this guy hasn't been training for ice-skating for years and years like Cousins, Torville & Dean et al..... ITV knew that if they gave him this move - he would have to concentrate on it and forget about the dancing!!!  SHAME ON YOU ITV............ SHAME ON THE REST OF YOU FOR PLAYING INTO ITV'S HANDS

RAY QUINN -  ALL THE WAY TO WIN!!!!   Anything else would be a travesty of justice....
