Couldn't agree more. The new format has just started screening in Australia and if last week's episode is anything to go by, we will become deserters. American style but inappropriately layered music, poor lighting and uncomfortable (even frustrating) camera work.
We have been avid viewers for over 10years and liked all the previous incarnations with the constant theme of reliance on acting not effects. This revamp appears to have gone too far! It is radical to the point of becoming a different show with some familiar actors.
Why the need to go gritty anywayt? This was one unique / endearing feature to The Bill and made it a family occasion with often some worthwhile messages.
Sorry guys, it just doesn't work in my opinion. Will keep trying for a little while to see if things pick up (return to normal) otherwise, after all these years we will be switching off.
Please producers - BRING BACK THE OLD BILL
