    Gone off it again *spoilers*

For me, the show has hit another creative brick wall.

Just when it was picking up, it goes back to square one. The return of Charity is overhyped to the max and the Debbie/Michael storyline has dented the show in recent weeks.

Cain/Faye had so much potential but the writers have abaonded it in favour of Cain/Charity and Faye/Mark. I don't understand how they can't see how well a partnership works. They ram so many crap ones down our necks (Debbie/Michael, Ryan/Katie, Leyla/David)

Natasha Wylde has also taken a back seat as the much hyped *** of the Dales and has become incredibly boring. I wouldn't be surprised if Amanda Donohoe doesn't reniew her contract.

    The Marlon/Moira fued is pathetic.

That's all I gotta say Big Smile

Totally agree about the Cain/Faye storyline - it rocked. Given the chance I would choose Cain over Mark any day. Amanda Donohoe is too good an actress to be fobbed off with Natasha.  No spark at all between Michael and Debbie - can't believe in the plot at all. Seems it is only there to get Charity back - surely she doesn't need a reason.  Am enjoying the Marlon/Moria fued but totally back Marlon.

Debbie/Michael story is yawn inducing but things are still looking up elsewhere. Nicola/ Jimmy are still great, also looking forward to seeing what happens in the missing money saga. Marlon/Moira clash is keeping me entertained too.

I am quite liking the Sharma's addition to the cast too.

I agree that the whole Michael & Debbie thing is pretty naff, it may liven up with the arrival of Charity, will have to see.

I still can't help but wish they had gone back a little towards their roots, and made more of the countryside and farming community. I was hoping that the Bartons would be instrumental in this, but not as yet.

Am enjoying Jimmy and Nicola and enjoying even more that the tedious and definitely yawn inducing Chas and Carl are off the scene for a bit. Hope they find a lovenest wherever it is they've gone, can't remember, and stay there!

The Sharmas may well be a welcome addition when we have got used to them, the sweet factory amuses me, why do the sweets just fall off the end of the conveyor belt and what are the employees doing with the ones that don't? Huh?

I thought they were picking out the duds but the factory would go bust with that rate of rejects !

Certainly agree with that one.  After much hype as the "sexy" family arriving in the dales, the Bartons  deserve a better stoyline than this rubbish.

I'm finding Michaels permanently anguished expression and string of platitudes embarrassing.  I just can't view his and Debbies little fling as an epic love affair.

Still trying to figure out if Moira and Marlon's feud has underlying currents, or if we're being subjected to yawn inducing, juvenile behaviour because the writers are scraping the bottom of the plot barrel.

It seems the malignant Nathan is drawing silly, naive Leyla further into his web.  Actually, I may have done Leyla a disservice when I posted on another thread that Nathan, being a milionaires son, would probably not have too much difficulty in wooing her away from David.  I'd forgotten that he'd made a previous attempt and Leyla gave him short shrift.  Although I do wonder how she would react if he offered her something permanent.

    Still

Me too herne, they have no chemistry, he always looks like he is suffering from constipation rather than being love lorn, I find it unbelievable he keeps coming back like a boomerang when Cain has attacked him twice and Debbie never changes that one dimensional perma-cross look.  Its so awful its almost becoming comical.  Confused

The Debbie and Michael story was the most unbelievable plot I've seen in a long time. In a matter of weeks they'd fallen so in love he was contemplating stopping his wedding and shacking up with Debbie and her kid. Not likely. Glad it's over.

    Yes, defently agree!

And it's a totall insult to Emmerdale's history to stop with the Farming!

Yes, love Jimmy and Nicolla! They are fab- and have to love the Marlon and Moira story!

Emmerdale is very good at doing some great stories like that and not making them rushed!

I'm really disapointed with the Hopes though!! Whats going on there!? Very depressing to see them being underused and when they are used its totally in the wrong way... where's that old sparkle we used to love about them!?

This new producer, I'm sad to say, has hurt alot of what was so great about Emmerdale...

    God Bless

Yes, but then what happens to them? The girls seem to be packing some of them in boxes as they come along, or sometimes just chucking them into other baskets, so I can't work out what is different to all the ones that are just left to fallConfused

Haha, I'd love to see the staff fall into the basket. As for the whole Leyla/Nathan thing, I'm wondering what he's got up her sleeve. Firstly being quite nice about her stealing from the shop, and even putting his own money into it to cover for her, and then extra money in her wage and refusing to take it back... I can't believe that he's suddenly gone all nice. Unless he's trying to woo her this way, as his previous manner didn't work? It's all a bit suspicious to me.

How come Leyla didn't give the extra money Nathan gave her back to him to pay off the loan?  He is definitely up to something and it's not good.
