    Shiela Wheeler

Awful, not funny and downright rude!  Hope they get rid of her soon.

    Re: Shiela Wheeler

Well as Norris has now sacked her I hope that is the last we shall see of this woman.  Newsflash to writers, she was NOT amusing!!

I don't see what the point in her was. She came in for less than a week, was really annoying and then left. What was the need?

    Re: Shiela Wheeler

Just checked on this person and I was right - originally seen in Pheonix Nights (real name Barbara Nice).  This is a very realistic character.  In reality such people who spend more time gossiping than working are annoying in the extreme.  In the programme she seemed strangely refreshing - in some ways like Auntie Pam - a typical northerner.  I hope she isn't leaving.

    Re: Shiela Wheeler

Shiela is in no way like any northerner I've ever met and I live amonst them.

As much as I dislike the character, I too hope she isn't leaving or else there would have been no point in bringing her in in the first place.

    Re: Shiela Wheeler

Most corner shops "up north", before they were commandered by pakistanis (no racism intended!), were filled with characters like this. Some of them now litter Sainsburys - forever waffling on when all you want to do is get your shopping and go home!!! p.s. misinformation provided earlier - her real name is Janice Connolly (once heard never forgotten) NOT Barbara Nice (apparently that's a comedy creation akin to Caroline Aherne's Mrs Merton)

Well she has gone now  and we have a new applicant (Joan), but was it just me or did anybody else immediately think 'Angela' as soon as they saw her?  For those who don't know she was Norris's ex wife who was a bit of a tyrant.

She was a bit rude for someone turning up for an interview too! Tyrant written all over her!

I read they are to have a string of these annoying assistants until Rita's return.  Why they need an extra person now Tina is back in a shop 10ft x 10ft is beyond me!   Mind you why Tina is working there is beyond me too?  Her mahogany tan looks a bit odd at this time of year as well.

I did wonder that about Tina, she seems to be trying to rival David Dickinson for the title of best perma-tan

Did anyone else notice that when she was in the shop she had a tan to rival Dev, but the next episode when she was with her Dad and the boat it was 2 shades lighter?

It has been reported that Barbara Knox is unwell and has taken time off, but she will be returning.  Just couldn't imagine Rosie working there, she would regard it as beneath her!
