    Danyl on X Factor

Like most of the nation I was absolutely incensed by the treatment of Danyl by all judges on last nights show. Simon was right, they should stop their bitching and at least he will not tolerate this behaviour.  Danyl's performance was truly outstanding - for Danni to resort to the gay inference was a cheap shot. I have never posted a comment like this before but felt so angry that I registered specifically. Disgraceful !

    Re: Danyl on X Factor

Like most intelligent people watching X-Factor last night (yes, intelligent people do watch the show) - my husband and I were gob-smacked to hear three judges' comments regarding Danyl Johnson's performance. Talk about blatant jealousy! Louie, Cheryl and Dannii (who's particular slur was very much out of line) know they have no one who can touch Danyl. When they were trying to boost their own act's performances, using expressions like "you need to believe in yourself" they had the gall to knock Danyl for his confidence.  No one can touch him.

Whether you win or lose Danyl, you've already shown yourself to be a class-act well ahead of the rest of the bunch. Go for it!!!

Lucy and Stacey - we hope Dannii's remarks don't work against you. You both have lovely voices.

    Re: Danyl on X Factor

Like you i was also incensed by the treatment of Danyl last night. I am a middle aged woman who has always enjoyed the X Factor but the behaviour of the Judges when commenting on Danyl's performance was an absolute disgrace, his performance was excellent and that's what it is all about, to bring gendre issues into his performance was appalling and I think at the very least Danni Minogue should make a very public apology on next weeks show. Louis and Cheryl's comments weren't at all constructive in fact downright destructive. Its very unusual for me to be so angry about a reality talent competition, which is why took the trouble to register. I hope Simon Cowell can sort this out once and for all to the benefit of the contestants, in particular Danyl. Take heed Judges you were absolutely disgraceful !!!

    Re: Danyl on X Factor

I was insensed by Dannys comment on Danyl last night. She even had the audacity to repeat her words when Simon gave her a chance to withdraw her homophobic slur and as for Luis and Cheryl to criticise him for acting too confident! The contestants have always been encouraged to be confident so what is all that about? Danny should be made to make a public apology and should be replaced as a judge. I just had to register and voice my anger. Defintely out of order.  Good luck Danyl!  You are a very talented performer and a nice guy and deserve to win!

    Re: Danyl on X Factor

I was absolutely appalled by the comment danni made about danyl's sexuality. He should be taken on the merit of his vocal performance and not on his private affairs. There are many gay and bisexual pop singers around who go about their daily business without it being raised or becoming an issue. In this century it should not still be made an issue. He is a fantastic singer who has a great entertainment factor and I feel that this type of show should learn from previous situations for example Will Young; now look at how successful he is. Again his sexuality was brought up and I feel that this is just inappropriate. Give him a chance!

    Re: Danyl on X Factor

The comment Danni made shows her true colours. I wonder what Kylie would have to say about it, as she has a massive gay following, and surrounds herself with lots of gay friends and helpers.

If the remark had been related to religion or race she would have been hauled out of her judging seat so quickly that she would not have had a chance to say G'day Mate as she was dragged from the venue, and by now would have been in every paper making an apology. So why is it that people feel that they have the right to comment on an individuals sexual preferences without the same level of disgust and contempt shown to them? Danni you let yourself, your sister and X Factor down, maybe its time for you to head back down under and reflect on your juvenile ways. Me I am now heading off to OFCOM to make an official complaint. I hope others do the same.

    Re: Danyl on X Factor

I agree. In what world is it Dannii Minogue's business to out people's sexuality at will? It is completely unacceptable behaviour on her part, and if ITV read these comments, take these not as comments but as official complaints. I have never commented on shows before but this was just outrageous. Dannii should make a public apology, preferably be replaced as a judge, and then have another public figure list all the people she has slept with for us all then to make judgements about (because Dannii - if it is your business who a contestant sleeps with, surely it is theirs who you sleep with). Unfortunately Dannii is simply too stupid and unintelligent to understand how that sort of schoolgirl gossiping about people's sexuality and bringing it up in totally unrelated contexts has just taken us back a decade or more.

    Re: Danyl on X Factor

I have never 'joined' a forum of any description before. Following last nights outrageous comments by Ms Minogue I felt so sad and angry, I felt compelled to make my feelings known.  It would seem that I am not alone!!  I really hope that the 'powers' that be will take the correct action and not whitewash.

    Re: Danyl on X Factor

Broken HeartI am gobsmacked st Dannii's remark, we live in the 21st century, we're judging DANYL'S singing and entertaining ability, who cares about his sexuality!!!!!!!!!!!!! and why all the comments about him being 'cocky' what a load of rubbish, he is actually a very talented young man, Dannii Minogue, you should be ashamed of yourself, your comment was cruel and totally inappropriate, what a shame for you just when you were starting to roar in the ratings against the gorgeous Cheryl Cole,

    Re: Danyl on X Factor

I think danyl gave a excellent perfomance last night the song really suited him and it was a great choice by simon. I am disgusted at dannii's comment, there was no need to bring up anything that had been in the papers over the week about danyl, its his choice about his sexuality and it has nothing to do with her or anyone else, if she believe's what she has read in the paper about danyl, should we start believing what is written in the papers about her. She should be ashamed of herself. Sharon Osbourne was right in what she said about her she is a nasty piece of work and will do anything to get her own way, she should remember who put her on the show because he could easlier replace her with someone better (silly girl).

I think she should be made to make a public apology to danyl on the show.

Re: Danyl on X Factor Sack the evil woman!

The whole family watched X-Factor last night and were totally shocked by Danniis comments. How dare she, who cares about his sexuality! He is a wonderful performer and singer, far better than her and Cheryl Cole put together. The treament he was given was totally inexcusable, all his pupils and family would have been watching the show! How cruel of her, she even said it twice.

This was live and everyone could see how hurt he was by these comments. How dare she! What an awful woman. Why is such a talentless, ignorant woman judging a show that has contestants with such talent!

Cheryl Cole did not help matters either with her unfair comments about his cockyness. Height of insensitvity!

We will not be watching the show again until serious action is taken against Dannii!

We live in the 21st century, racism is unacceptable, and so is SEXUAL DISCRIMINATION!

Re: Danyl on X Factor Sack the evil woman!

I First would like to say to all, give Dannii a break, so what, she made and ill-timed remark we have all done this she did not say anything derogatory to danyl about his sexual orientation.  The point that Dannii was making if she had been allowed to finish was that if you are to believe the media why did he change the gender reference?  She was allowing him a right to reply to what would have been a critisim of fans if nothing had been said.

We as a nation of reactionary TV addicts need to take a step back and look at a bigger picture which includes many thousands (if not millions) of people who have been persecuted for their sexual orientation.  Danyl cannot use his orientation to define himself in the press then expected no further comment when he tries to hide the fact later on by changing the gender reference of a song to gain a fan base.

If he was truly proud of who he is he would not have changed the gender reference, he should be ashamed as he allowed himself to be played for fame.

Many people these days have a very short memory of the kind of persecution we as the Gay, ***, Bi-sexual and Transgender community have dealt with and for aspects of our community still have to deal with on a daily basis.  Danyl has the perfect opportunity to further this cause by being open in the media and being judged for who he is in total.  X Factor is not only about the voice but the performance and the person, playing hide and seek with your sexual orientation lessen's the honesty of the performance.

Sorry for the long rant, but please step back and look before we start a Dannii witchunt.

    Re: Danyl on X Factor

what an absolute disgrace, danni's unforgiveable rant at danyls sexuality last night on the show was completely unacceptable. She showed hereself to be completely and utterley braindead -what sort of a person makes comments like that in the 21st centuary>? To belittle someone so publically who does she think she is?????

also more to the point what if this poor man does not win any kind of fame from this and has to go back to teaching as his full time occupation? silly comments like this could completely ruin his life.

i too have never posted comments on any forums before but i felt so strongly outraged that i had to!

I feel that Danni should be made to publically appologise and she should be removed from the show - no viewer wants to see contestants so humiliated on live TV it is a gross display of a clearly senseless woman on a power trip.

    Bring back sharon osbourne---------legend!

    Re: Danyl on X Factor
