I like Racer's posts and am happy to read more, I do find the constant questioning very annoying and tedious though.

Does anyone know where we can write to to complain about certain members persecuting others?

Amazed and deeply saddened by this statement.

Use the “contact us” on the front page of the site. Hopefully they will investigate your complaint.

    Hi

This is Why I do not get into question and answer debates.

Except when you are clearly rattled.

Your very first post on this thread was

"Just got to the hotel and will be getting my first view of Yas Marina tomorrow."

And that was posted at 3:26pm UK time (all post times are the UK server time), making it 7:26pm in Abu Dhabi. The circuit is a 15 minute drive from the airport (very handy), but the only UK flights arriving into AD were from Manchester at 07:15 and 19:35, and from Heathrow at 07:40 and 20:20. The later flights are out, for obvious reasons, and the early flights mean it took you 12 hours to get your bags. I'm just curious as to what you were doing for these 12 hours?

Yes, about 7.30 at the hotel the end of a long WORKING DAY, I did not say I had just arrive in the country.

Working Day? Doing what? I am genuinely interested.

A later post, on the 30th, said

"Just a few quick notes during the lunch break."

This was posted at 11:56am UK time, or 3:56pm AD time. That seems a little late for a lunch break, but perhaps you'd been working so hard that you forgot the time? Just wondering. I also take it you weren't interested in the Chevvy Supercar practice session that was going on at that time?

As we did not get to the track until 10.00am and were going to be working there until about 10.00pm, for most of the weekend then 4.00pm was about lunch time.

With an evening race we are on the same time as you.

As I am paid to be at work over the weekend, no, I do not watch much of the support races.

Another reference to work, but you still fail to say what you do. Previously you claim to work on the GT’s.  As you don’t watch you cars race, is his when you have your bacon butties on the privet boat?

Anyway, another post came on the 31st:

"Right, got to get to work now, hopefully will talk to you later"

This was at 8:59am UK, or 12:59pm AD time. I'm surprised you're not already at work, or at least watching the Porsche Supercup qualifying session that is going on right now?

     Working day 9.00am to 10.00pm

Again I am paid to be at work over the weekend, no, I do not watch much of the support races.

Work!!! You seem to be busy socialising to do any work.

And then the one I'm having a tough time figuring out was the one posted on the 2nd:

"Getting things packed away, ready for the flight home tonight"

This was posted at 9:26am UK time, or 1:26pm AD time. The only flights that leave AD for the UK are for Manchester at 02:15, or for London at 02:35, 08:15, and 13:20. So you've missed all of them and, more to the point, there is no "flight home tonight".

If you want to fly some ware and there is no convenient direct flight at the time you want to travel, they have these things called “connecting flights”

It would be cheaper and more convenient to fly direct like most people. Why are you the exception?

Strangely, you posted again later the same day:

"Thanks for the positive comments "

And that was at 4:56pm, or 8:56pm AD time. If there was a "flight home tonight" you'd be on it at this time, and if by some miracle you'd manage to teleport yourself onto the last flight out at 13:20, your plane would still be in the air at the time of the post, so I find this one a little odd.

Most international flights have these things called “internet connections”

Are you sure???? (Those kind of flights are VERY expensive)

But then again, what do I know? Who did you fly with, just out of curiosity? Perhaps knowing that would clear up these oddities.

I have no problem with people making good or bad comments about my posts, but please think before you write, you obviously spent a good deal of time researching you facts, but a bit of thought about broadcast times, airline schedules and aircraft facilities, would have saved you from wasting a lot your time.

I would suggest you apply this rule to your own posts.

As I said this is why I do not get into debates, or question and answer loops.

If you were genuine you would. Your integrity is now under scrutiny; your posts are regarded as ill informed fantasy.

I make a post, people can read it or not, believe it or not, and I really do not care.

By the very nature of this post you clearly do care.

I do not and will not get into “if its true all you need to prove it is…”

    Then don’t post. It’s over.

I feel no need to prove anything, it is not my problem.

Well you have been labelled a fantasist.

In future I will not respond to these types of post, although I will comment on good jokes like r1’s

Sorry my friend, you are being laughed at and not with.

    Hi

This is Why I do not get into question and answer debates.

Well, to be honest, you never answer any questions. Do you have a camera, of any description?

Your very first post on this thread was

"Just got to the hotel and will be getting my first view of Yas Marina tomorrow."

And that was posted at 3:26pm UK time (all post times are the UK server time), making it 7:26pm in Abu Dhabi. Yes, about 7.30 at the hotel the end of a long WORKING DAY, I did not say I had just arrive in the country.

Really? Working doing what? Let me expand your first sentence for you: "Just got to the hotel and will be getting my first view of Yas Marina tomorrow" - unless you have a second job, wouldn't your work be at Yas Marina? Why would you not have had a look at the place for the 12 hours you've been there?

A later post, on the 30th, said

"Just a few quick notes during the lunch break."

This was posted at 11:56am UK time, or 3:56pm AD time. That seems a little late for a lunch break, but perhaps you'd been working so hard that you forgot the time? Just wondering. I usually arrive at work at around 9.30/10ish, and I quite often work until 10pm or later. My lunch time is still at noon or 1pm. That's when my body wants food. The time you leave work has no bearing on it. It is not an outlandish comment that 4pm is an odd time for "lunch".

With an evening race we are on the same time as you.

As I am paid to be at work over the weekend, no, I do not watch much of the support races.

So what exactly DO you do? I'm not having a go, I would really like to understand WHY you were in Abu Dhabi.

Okay, so you not leaving your hotel until 1pm is acceptable for a 9am start?

Again I am paid to be at work over the weekend, no, I do not watch much of the support races.

Again, what exactly DO you do? If you're nothing to do with F1 (which you've said before) and are only there for the support races, wouldn't you be watching them?

And then the one I'm having a tough time figuring out was the one posted on the 2nd:

"Getting things packed away, ready for the flight home tonight"

This was posted at 9:26am UK time, or 1:26pm AD time. The only flights that leave AD for the UK are for Manchester at 02:15, or for London at 02:35, 08:15, and 13:20. So you've missed all of them and, more to the point, there is no "flight home tonight".

If you want to fly some ware and there is no convenient direct flight at the time you want to travel, they have these things called “connecting flights”

Or, you make sure you have everything packed up for the 13:20 flight on Monday. You're paid to work over the weekend, remember? Bearing in mind that the last support race finshed at 15:00 on Sunday, surely that would be enough time for you to pack up and be ready for the off on Monday? I'm assuming you're not paid to watch the F1 grand prix, if you're not paid to watch the support races?

And as for flight convenience, as someone who flies a lot for work, your comment about a connecting flight being more convenient is nonsense. It is more convenient to get on ONE plane and then get off at your destination, rather than having to go through multiple airports. ESPECIALLY with all of your kit. I avoid connecting flights like the plague, especially on long flights.

But, let's assume that you did take a connecting flight. Who did you fly with, and where did you connect?

Strangely, you posted again later the same day:

"Thanks for the positive comments "

And that was at 4:56pm, or 8:56pm AD time. If there was a "flight home tonight" you'd be on it at this time, and if by some miracle you'd manage to teleport yourself onto the last flight out at 13:20, your plane would still be in the air at the time of the post, so I find this one a little odd.

Most international flights have these things called “internet connections”

That's not strictly true. Some airlines have wi-fi on their planes, but definitely not "most". BA and Virgin Atlantic don't yet (although Virgin America does and it's great!), and neither does Emirates. So which airline did you fly on that had wi-fi?

Or, you could have said that you were waiting for your connecting flight, but you missed that one. Wink

It actually didn't take very long at all; about 10 minutes in total and I only needed to visit 2 websites and I got all the information I needed. If you had done the same, your story could have been all the more credible.

And what do broadcast times have to do with anything?

As I said this is why I do not get into debates, or question and answer loops.

So why did you respond to this? Do you have a camera, by the way?

I make a post, people can read it or not, believe it or not, and I really do not care.

    Well, you clearly do.

I do not and will not get into “if its true all you need to prove it is…”

Why not? You do realize that you could shut us all up once and for all with one simple picture?

I feel no need to prove anything, it is not my problem.

So if I said I was Jenson Button's uncle, you would just believe me without any proof? I'm afraid, me ol' mukka, that the burden of proof is on you. You are making these claims (which have been shot to pieces so many times by so many people) and you need to step up and prove it. The strange thing is that, if you're telling the truth (and actually, I hope you are because it would be cool!) then you could prove it SO easily.

In future I will not respond to these types of post, although I will comment on good jokes like r1’s

Brilliant. What a fantastic cop out. You've taken your ball and you're going home. This alleged "defence" of people questioning you is pathetic. So, basically, what you're saying is: you're going to post whatever you like and when people question you about it, you're just going to ignore them? No comment, right?

    Hi

This is Why I do not get into question and answer debates.

But then again, what do I know? Who did you fly with, just out of curiosity? Perhaps knowing that would clear up these oddities.

I have no problem with people making good or bad comments about my posts, but please think before you write, you obviously spent a good deal of time researching you facts, but a bit of thought about broadcast times, airline schedules and aircraft facilities, would have saved you from wasting a lot your time.

As I said this is why I do not get into debates, or question and answer loops.

I make a post, people can read it or not, believe it or not, and I really do not care.

I do not and will not get into “if its true all you need to prove it is…”

I feel no need to prove anything, it is not my problem.

In future I will not respond to these types of post, although I will comment on good jokes like r1’s

    Regards

    Racer111 (Fozzie)

Especially if you do not want to get into these kind of discussions, you could just have stated the dates of your return connections. Surely it would only take one minute and would add credibility. Now you just leave yourself open again for sceptics.

    Hi

It is probably because it is Friday and I am a bit board this morning, that I am replying to these posts.

A lot of people do not seem to mind that I can not be bothered to respond to the calls for “proof” and those that do have contributed to 9 pages of posts on this subject, and I for one have found reading them highly entertaining and I hope others have also.

One last comment before I pack up and go home, in response to an earlier post.

Yes a connecting flight is more expensive, but not as expensive as stopping and extra night and then loosing best part of the next day travelling.

    Regards

    Racer111 (Fozzie)

But it is more expensive than having your kit all packed up and ready for the 13:20 direct flight on Monday. (And you lose the 8 hours due to travelling regardless, so that isn't really an argument)

You cant expect not to be questioned, the human race is an inquisitive bunch at the best of times, your quite happy to spend time giving us your 'Inside information' yet you cant even spend a few minutes of your time to give something to offer us confidence in you. Thats all what is required. I wished you were real and I think when we have these alledged 'Fakes' it is dissapointing to learn that they are indeed fake. Working Day? Doing what? I am genuinely interested.

Another reference to work, but you still fail to say what you do. Previously you claim to work on the GT’s.  As you don’t watch you cars race, is his when you have your bacon butties on the privet boat?

By the very nature of this post you clearly do care.

    Then don’t post. It’s over.

I feel no need to prove anything, it is not my problem.

Well you have been labelled a fantasist.

May I ask how other genuine members of the forum feel regarding this post? People with less than 100 posts to their name need not respond.

    R1

    As you ask, I'll answer.

I think your behaviour is unnaceptable. Your whole demeanor seems bullying to me, you seem to wish everyone to bend to your way of thinking. I feel I cannot stand by and witness  such behaviour without responding. I hope you find the decency to take a long hard look at the way you are responding to racers posts and pray that someone you know is not subjected to the same behaviour towards a fellow forum member.

    BTW  I'm glad you asked.

I do not tolerate any form of bullying.

Racers post are a transparent fantasy, and by pointing this out I am accused of a bullying. Surely I don’t need to explain the irony of your post.

I am not expressing an opinion like many people here who seem only to argue why their driver is better than anyone else’s favourite driver, but simply this, Racer is not telling the truth and taking you for fools.

I will not be spoken down to by a story teller.

I'm not taking a swipe at you, Kris, but your attitude is called blind faith and is how religion got it's terrible grip on the world.

I don't want to be blatantly lied to and expected to believe it without question. It insults my intelligence. Why am I (and Hump, and R1, etc.) not perfectly within our rights to ask for a little bit of evidence to back up these claims? And the thing that I think the defenders of Racer are missing is that the evidence we're after is extremely trivial and yet it never appears. A simple photo. The name of an airline. The time of a flight. These things are not difficult to produce, and yet Racer can't produce them.

And I'm not bashing anyone or being rude to Racer: I asked some simple questions and didn't get answers. This is a forum, I can do that.

I like Racer's posts and am happy to read more, I do find the constant questioning very annoying and tedious though.

Does anyone know where we can write to to complain about certain members persecuting others?

Nobody is persecuting anybody. Racer is open to question, as this is a forum, and he's being questioned. There's no harm in that. The fact that he doesn't actually answer any relevant questions should raise a few eyebrows, though.

And if you like his posts, then simply read his and none of the following ones. That is, I believe, what Hump, R1, and co keep being told: "if you don't like Racer's posts, then don't read them". Well, if you don't like people asking questions to Racer, don't read their posts.

Perhaps I'm taking a leaf out of Aveli's form of replying - ie. go off on tangents Wink

But in all seriousness, I mention religion because that also involves people blindly believing something without a single shred of evidence to back it up, and this is not rational human behaviour. This is what is happening with Racer's posts.

I know this is the internet, but just because this is online does not make lying acceptable. If Racer had posted once or twice, got busted, and then owned up, that would be one thing. I think what is getting on people's nerves is that he has been busted - over and over - and yet still continues to respond in a miffed and self-righteous 'I know who I am therefore I don't need to prove it to you' kind of way. This is what is insulting people's intelligence. If Racer just owned up, I'm sure we'd all have a good laugh about it, but his/her persistence in exacerbating this lie has become insulting.

As for chilling out; I'm perfectly chilled. This doesn't make me angry or wound up, I just would like Racer to 'fess up. There is more evidence that proves him to be a liar than there is that proves he's telling the truth. If this changes, I will be first in line to apologise, but until then it is perfectly reasonable for his posts to come under scrutiny. Cool
