    Corked Wine....???

How do you tell if a wine is corked as I've never had one (that I know of) before?

I've just opened a bottle of rose and it looks an odd colour and also tastes/smells a bit strange (sort of musty) so have decided not to drink it!

Can it be 'corked' even tho it's a screw top bottle? :o

You can tell I'm no wine connoisseur ;) :D .

    Yes [Y] Re: Cork

Thanks for your reply. I wasn't sure if 'corked' was an expression people use for wine that's gone off, corked or not :o  . I've tried this wine before and it was a lovely summery drink and the reason I bought it again, but will take it back to the shop  .

I had no idea about the Portugese farmers and will try to remember that when buying my 'plonk' in future ;). Very few bottles seems to contain real corks as most seem to be made of plastic thesedays.
