I joined just before the forums were revamped and couldn't wait for it to come back but am dissappointed as it seems to take for ages.  It is so slow now and not user friendly like it used to be.  Hello everyone anyway as I didn't get a chance to really say hello before the summer. Smile

not finding this new layout very user freindly, waiting for 3 or 4 minutes to get a post on doesnt make any conversation possible, bring back the original forum, i feel not many oldies will be back , its  a shameHmm

Re: Havent a clue whats happening.

I'm sorry to say that this is now the slowest forum set-up that I've ever used !

You can though post outside of the old time restrictions but the post doesn't get proccessed until the old open times.

For instance I posted a reply in the DOI forum before 730am the other morning but the email conformation arrived at 1006am. I can't remember that time was credited to the post but even during open times it's taking way too long to appear.

Does it mean that there are humans manually processing all the posts ?

I wouldn't have thought so Larry but who really knows..? One thing's for sure though, I won't be around to find out. They've managed to kill this forum off with one fell swoop, which is a pity, but not one that I wish to be a part of anymore.

Have fun everyone, not that I expect it to happen mind!Sleep

Re: Havent a clue whats happening.

That last one was the fastest I've had a post appear. Took 7 minutes for the email to appear.

Also noticed that their server time is wrong. It says it was posted at 6:48 but it was 6.53. A minor thing.

But I've noticed that from the main forum listings ,not the sub listings ,that the times are completely wrong as if they have a server the other side of the pond and the software is ignoring your timezone settings.

It's nice to have a chat about things but it's just a pity you can't get more than a couple of replies in a night.

I still have the regular forum that I use which is instant posting and notifications.

Its a shame the forums so slow! It even looks clinical with it all being white and taking forever to post so that you can have actual conversations without waiting a day or two for your reply! (slight exaggeration but you know what I mean).

     Hopefully it'll improve!

Re: Havent a clue whats happening.

I don't think I've seen more than 20 people logged into the whole forum system for days.

ITVMod must be getting quite bored waiting / hoping someone will post something so they have something to do.

They had a good month to sort things out before the system it went live but didn't ,now their once good system is standing idle most of the time.

By the time it's gets sort most people will have gone elsewhere. In fact I think many already have.

Re: Havent a clue whats happening.

Pre-moderating every post makes for very stilted debate.  Is this forum likely to be that controvertial?

What's worse is that there isn't any warning, so I thought I'd had a technical problem and went to the effort to rewrite it, and then got a message saying my post had been deleted, along with a list of reasons - generally implying I'd insulted someone, nothing about a double post.

It is better than some places where moderation can take hours, or even days, but they are amateur operations.   Most places that insist on pre-moderation only apply it to newer members.  Please tell me that once we get above a certain post count without offending anyone we are trusted?
