I found Carol's Marie Antoinette moment shocking to watch. She obviously has enormous reserves of anger which she channels onto totally unrelated subjects. Millions of people do this, but when the subjects are as close to home and sensitive for millions of other people as the strike issue, and at the same time, totally abstract to Carol, I think it becomes irresponsible and destructive to even broadcast these rants.
Her tone suggests that the strikers are personally insulting her, and that they are total idiots. When another of the women asked her what other means people have of voicing their discontent to the government, she replied "They should go back to work". By completely ignoring the question like that, and instead, responding with an order to the working public, Carol shows that she doesn't think workers should be allowed to have a voice, implying some kind of fascist state.
Its ironic that the conversation revolved around Italians working in Britain and vice verse because if Carol gets fired, which she really should, I'm sure she could get a job on one of Berlusconi's channels in Italy.
