The twenty grand could have been Charity's exit line.

I SO agree and perhaps Charity could have put in another appearance in say 9 months to a year's time, that would have been more credible, Now we have her in our faces for the next six months - groan

Cain was starting to get interesting but now he's been made to pander to this useless character Charity. Emma Atkins has two facial expressions. Frowning and widening her eyes, together with overdoing a Yorkshire accent.

If she has to stay can the rest of the cast not have a whip round and buy her a hair brush?

Maybe she could use some of the £20,000 to buy a hairbrush. Its like 'straw hingin oot a midden'

Last night's episode was absolutely terrible, worst episode written by Karin Young ever.

An episode full of Dingles. Cain/Charity/Debbie are a dull and tired combination

It certainly wasn't the best episode I have ever seen, I am very fed up with Debbie even when she was supposed to be happy she could barely crack a smile - is she terminally miserable in real life ?

Do you think the rest of the Dingles did a runner en masse from that restaurant after Cain went off with Debbie and Chas?Wink

I agree, daffodilly.  I used to make excuses for her attitude  -  I thought she was tough and brave and  determined.  I didn't expect her to be a barrel of laughs.  But last night she was so totally lacking in grace, so unappreciative.  And lately she has become unrealistically needy where Charity is concerned.  Charity is a grasping, self-seeking rodent-like creature, BUT she was only 13 when Debbie was born. She had Debbie adopted when she was a few weeks(?) old and didn't see her for 14 years.  Debbie is 20 years old and Charity is only 33.  She just can't make herself feel like a protective caring mother. Debbie has to accept the reality.  Cain is being admirable, always there for Debbie and Sarah, but no doubt he will now be kicked in the teeth for providing Charity with the money to make her escape and Debbie won't see that it was for the best.  But how could Charity do a runner on Debbies birthday.  Even if she doesn't feel like her mother, couldn't she have summoned up the decency to behave like a considerate human being.

I suppose that's why she comes back again like a bad smell in a few days. She "just couldn't go through with it in the end" is my guess.........

Re: The neverending saga of Charity/Debbie/Cain

I have always disliked "deadpan Debbie".  She never seems to get her come uppance and has everyone helping her out.  The way she screamed at poor innocent 5 year old Noah yesterday was unforgivable.  She needs a good slap around her miserable face.

I should have mentioned this on Tuesday but totally forgot.  It wasn't any wonder that the cab was late picking Charity up she didn't give him an address!Tongue Tied  If she did go off by cab why did she say to Debbie yesterday she would have sold the car, I guess that is the car she arrived in last night - where did that come from?Confused

When she arrived in that car I assumed that she had immediately bought it with some of the money Cain gave her, but then she offered it back to him and said all she'd taken was a bit for food and a couple of nights in a hotel, doesn't make sense! Soaplike poor attention to detail again methinks.
