Why was it so difficult to contact Maria or her parents ......Fiz was trying to do it but surely Kirk would be able to contact his own parents more quickly than that.

May seem a very obvious answer but perhaps as Fiz was ringing their land line they may have been out?

Yes , I did think of that frannyp but it does seem a bit unbelievable that neither Maria or her parents could not be contacted by mobile or a landline in their house......wasn't it supposed to be night time and wouldn't 'baby liam' be at home in bed by that time.  Surely in all those hours Maria would have tried to get in contact with Tony and if she couldn't why wouldn't she have contacted Fiz or Kirk to see if they knew anything !  Wouldn't Kirk know friends or neighbours of his parents and try and contact them.

My father died of a massive heart attack at a young age, just like Tony, many years ago.

And no, the scriptwriters have not got it right, for Tony would be in intensive care, heavily medicated - the the extent that he could not speak so coherently to Roy, and certainly a visitor who is not a relative  would not be allowed to sit for such a long period of time by Tony's bedside.

Still, I hope that this has raised awareness of one of the biggest killers in the UK today - heart disease - and that it will prompt everyone to take better care of their diet and lifestyle, as well as convincing those with heart disease in their family to get a check up - I have an ECG and cholesterol check yearly . Also donations to the British Heart Foundation will help those working at the forefront of medicine trying to combat this terrible disease.

I agree, when my father also died of a heart attack he was in intensive care and despite the pain control was suffering and couldn't talk.

Sometimes soaps go to great lengths to research storylines and do it very well. This isn't one of those occasions!

    Re: Tony Gordon

As I put on another post, Tony was very talkative and hungry wanting a bacon sandwich.  Someone who had had two massive heart attacks certainly wouldnt be behaving like this.  It was ludicrous.

Now I know the NHS is short of cash but surely they could afford to supply a hospital gown for Tony to wear (lovely as it is to see his torso)? Hmm   Or perhaps Maria could have brought in a jimjams jacket.

There is one thing that is bugging me and that is about Jed Stone, the old man he tried to kill on christmas last year! I mean, has everyone forgotten about him? HE has much to do with this storyline but he hasnt been mentioned in ages! Will he ever be back?

I want to know what happened to poor Jed Stone!
