Hmm, I didn't know that. If he had been running from something then surely he would have taken her, if he was that bothered about her at the time... 

I think it was the Whats on TV mag he did an interview for, i read it on the internet the other day and he definatly said it was all still to be revealed. Maybe the people who he said helped him change his name told him it was too risky if they ran away together, and there was more chance of them being found if he took her with him. I dont know i cant think of anything else, if he was having an affair with someone he would have been with them, not Natasha, and if he had found out Faye was having an affair and just left surely she would have mentioned it when she found him.

The only other thing would be Witness Protection.   Maybe he got involved with some villians, turned them in to the polce, gave evidence against them then of course he would then have to disappear and have a new identity.  This would also explain why he didn't want his photo taken in case the wrong people saw it,
