    lucky leprechaun:

I might be wrong but didn't Liam have a  Manchester accent,

yes, the actor who played him (have just had a complete mind blank here) is from not too far from me. His auntie goes to the local with my mum.

It seems that all of the siblings grew up over here, yet the parents and rest of the family are all over in Ireland, work that one out!

    Re: CHRISTENING

If the Connors are so flamin' Irish and Catholic (I am not Irish but most of my family are and I was brought up a Catholic) then they would have referred to Liam's christening as a baptism - this being the more spiritual of the two.  I can't recall any baptisms where more than one godparent of each sex was required - godmother and godfather is usual.  And no self-respecting Catholic baptism would have a party before the event - Catholics love a booze-up (whether for baptism, wedding, funeral, whatever) and the whole point of the sacrament is that afterwards you get to have a knees-up and properly celebrate the occassion.  Hic!
