Re: local news thats not local

Here in the North East it was called Tyne Tees but now its ITV Local which includes Scottish Borders east to west and the Cumbrian patch, so we don't get much if any 'local news' In fact its less news and more light entertainment by presenters trying to look as though they're partying'

Kind of lining up for the EU relaunch of Regional Assemblies, much rejected by a great majority of the population, so I suspect in time we will only have Nation news programmes with a little bit of newsworthy local headlines.

Best alternative is to go for local newspapers on-line and catch up with true local information.

Tyne Tees and BBC North East News also include anything that happens in the whole of Yorkshire.  News on what happens locally is restricted to the local newspaper which is more interesting and important to those to live in Newcastle; not a minor incident that happened in Scarborough.

In the early 90s Yorkshire and Tyne Tees merged and some parts of Tyne Tees was moved to Leeds which is possibly why there would be programmes from Yorkshire

Yey i agree, here in Bristol we now get Cornwall and Plymouth news, ITV had a good website with  live webcams from all around the country, sadly these have now gone.

With ITV local it was closed down not only because free websites lose a lot of money but because the competition comission said local news papers claimed that it was taking it's customers
