I agree with what you say about r1racing and notice that he has been accused of being a bully, which is a bit unfair as he is only questioning racer's assertions.  It will be a sad day when people stop thinking for themselves and questioning things.  But I also defend racer's right to post what he likes, whether his comments are true or not he's not hurting anyone is he?

Re the bullying by r1-racing:

I think if you read it carefully, the accusations of bullying don't relate to r1-racing's comments to Racer111.  What is being questioned is his comments to other posters who defend Racer111.

For instance, these are things he has said to me:

Then r1-racing said in reply to redfrog: 'I will not berate anyone for having an opinion'  and  'I do not tolerate any form of bullying'    -  two statements which are not borne out by his previous posts to others.

Some other posters objected to r1-racing's way of speaking to those who supported Racer.  It was never about how he addressed Racer111, only about the way he addressed other posters, which was condescending and almost abusive.

However, having said that.......    I am most impressed with Redfrog's thread 'Whoa Whoa Whoa' calling for peace in our time, and I'll go along with what he says, and I'll let it go and not bear grudges.

Firstly, this is in no way a rant, and I dont want to upset the situation anymore than it is allready.

My problem with your examples is this, this forum can and has had some very heated discussions - I know this becuause I have found myself at the core of many. I have had my intelligence bought into question, I have been labelled a fanboy, a football hooligan and frankly names I didnt think would get pass moderation.....

Were was all these people screaming 'Bully' then ? 

Why is it only now that there has become this forum ettiquette ?

Why didnt I have this defence ? A long standing member who has been myself throught...

I can probably name a couple who did, Coops and Kimi's Girl...... Racer has an army...

Look at what Aname gets called, a harmless person who lives for Lewis and Ron but yet gains zero respect off the majority of members... Racer has this credibility with members even though they think he/she is lying.... Whats that about ?

Quite ironic when not long ago it was suggested that you and I were one in the same person.

For myself I have stated a few times that I have no real opinion either way on racer111 but I did feel that his posts did not warrant the venom in some of the replies. Because I expressed that opinion I was accused of the above. So I dont see that responding to those accusations in the way I did was that bad.

I hope you can be bothered to use the forum as I find your posts informative and entertaining. As I do R1's. It's just on this occasion our oppinions differ.

We cant all agree on everything all of the time. If we did there would be no need for forums.

I think that I do understand where you're coming from, I hope I've got it right.  I think that from your viewpoint it would not seem fair that Racer gets so much support for what you see as lying, when you get attacked for saying what you see as the truth, and nobody was supporting you.

I think that what upset me so much was being attacked for something that wasn't true.  Exactly as jack says, posts 'inferring I have a below average intellect and also .. accusing me of being an alias for racer111',  that's what annoyed me.  It is immaterial what brought it on, that should not have been said about me, it was untrue and unjust.  So maybe that's the sort of way that you were feeling, when you were attacked and called names.

When I look back on the frenzy it's starting to seem unreal.  It all escalated, didn't it - as the attacks increased in strength and frequency, so did the defences.  As I said on Redfrog's thread, I really hope that Racer does not do any more 'Hi from...  ' threads.  It's just not worth it, the forum was being torn apart.

Well, humpy, please don't leave us.  I was starting to think of going to another forum, but after reading your thread, I've changed my mind.  I hope we'll all stick around, we know each other, we do get on most of the time.  If I can quote jack again "We cant all agree on everything all of the time".   Most of the time, we get over our arguments and spats, and move on.  So that's what I'm doing. 

And this forum has really good jokes and piccies!

I have been reading through Racer's old posts, from day one....sad I know but his earlier posts were great, totally your usual poster, even noticed a love for Lewis as many was in his defence.. You then notice the transition into the ''Man in the know''... I would welcome Racer back as his old self with no mention of these stories, as I have said before he seems a very knowldegable guy and im allways happy to listen to experience.

Your right on my feelings ad yes it isnt pleasant to have your intelligence bought into question as both you and me have but you just got to ignore it and get on.I was only accused just the other day of being an alias of Jack67 ! I still dont know why....but we laughed about it and carried on...

Yes Champ I believe he/she is, people who wouldnt normally bicker are... Racer should put an end to all this with proof or even disappear if they are to ashamed to admit it. It is obvious it is creating trouble in what is usually a good funny camp to be in.... When people are falling out because of a game then is enough not enough ?

 

Well said, Hump. Even when people’s postings don’t make sense (the mods won’t let me name anyone) it doesn't make people bicker and argue. Some people’s views and beliefs are sometimes so far removed from reality that it makes me laugh out loud when I read them. We all reply, we post counter arguments, more craziness in response, and on it goes. But, frustrating as a lack of comprehension can be sometimes, this doesn't annoy me because I genuinely believe that the people involved think what they are writing is true.

However, if somebody deliberately sets out to mislead people then I find that behaviour - whether online or in real life - unacceptable.

 

Just got back on board (one of the longest private yachts in the world) after the post F1 party. Phew what a day!. Had a word with Jenson about his post-race swearing, for which he apologised but reminded me he was WDC and could bl****ng swear if he £$£^%%* wanted to! Mark was interested in my suggestion he go for the "man from gillette" role as he will never beat Seb. He showed his interest by giving me a friendly Aussie fist in the gob!, what a card! Bumped into the beeb team and reminded the lepracorn that he is the lesser of the two "Jordans"! ha ha , Eddied punched me in the kneecap while old lantern jaw doubled up! Anyway gotta dash, Alish has just bowled in tanked up on vodka and demanding I drive the boat to Bahrain for next weekends race. His mate is cutting up rough and demanding to see to the cabin boy or something, gotta go, try and post some news about the Hamiltons take-over bid for Donnigton later.

Hi Humpy.  I agree with Kris, when she says "that's more of the Humpy I know and love! "  You can get intense at times, as you say, but that's just part of who you are, and I'm happy with who you are, a top poster on this crazy forum.

I agree that Racer's early posts were really good and informative.  Where did it all go wrong!!!  We shouldn't have posters "in support of " and "against" another poster and each other, we really don't need that sort of division on here.

I'm very very happy to say that r1_racing and I have made our peace now, that gives me a lot of pleasure.

Sorry for any delay in posting this, I've been watching the rugby and the league  -  there are other sports beside F!!!!!
