This is public forum and you have a right to express an opinion and yours is as welcome as the next man.
To continue to charade as a jet setting globe trotter with an inside perspective is unacceptable for reasons stated on other posts.
The fact that you have even started this thread (after you said you wouldn’t) strongly suggests you are more interested in craving attention than credibility.
The real question that you should be asking the members of this forum is, do they believe you?

Hi
Having read a couple of threads yesterday, things seem to have settled down and members have, if not apologised for comments made, have agreed to differ.
I have said in the past, I would only carry on posting from the GP’s if there was support from the members.
At present I am not sure who wants me to stop and who wants me to carry on.
Can I ask for a “show of hands”, no personal comments on other members, just let me know if you want me to stop or carry on, a simple YES, No or even DON’T CARE.
If there is little support I will revert to more “normal” posts.
One last thing: I do not have any aliases on this forum, so please do not accuses other members of being me.
Regards
Racer111
Go for it Racer!! I like to have my views confirmed! One of which is that the "net" is full of loonies!

If you're going to continue to not substantiate your claims and answer even the simplest (and non bullying) of questions, such as 'do you have a camera' or 'what airline did you use', then the answer is a resounding NO.
However, if you'd like to continue rounding up the news from the many F1 sites across the web and post 'Summary of the day's news from <x>' posts during race weekends, then that would be lovely, as I for one do not have the time to trawl through the internet looking for tidbits and gossip. That would actually be genuinely useful.
Just a thought.

As I see it, there are about 4 people who genuinely object to your "Hi from" threads, and several people who have recently changed their allegiance in an attempt to keep the peace. Personally, I believe in freedom of speech. It appears to me that some of your more vocal detractors also proclaim to believe in freedom of speech, declaring that they won't be silenced - while at the same time trying to stifle your right to post what you like, and even drive you from the forum altogether. Well I have to tell you, it makes me very uncomfortable. There are several members of this forum that post material that I don't find entertaining. Do you know what I do? I don't read it. If I open a thread where the OP is one of these individuals, I simply close the thread again and don't bother reading it. I don't attack the poster, I don't criticise them, I simply ignore them because I know that there are people that like their threads. I stay out of it. Why can't people do that with your "Hi from" threads? The clue is in the thread title. If you know it will raise your blood pressure, then don't open the thread. It works for me. So I vote yes. I enjoy reading your threads, whether gospel truth or not. I find them ENTERTAINING, and isn't that what we all come here for?

This is why I wonder if they should just be repackaged into something palatable for all. Call it a "synopsis of the day's news" or something, and forget the "when I was walking down the pit lane" stuff.
Unless Racer is going to show at least a tiny shred of evidence that he was actually at the races he says he was, which would be very easy to do, there are going to be people who find his assertions objectionable when so many holes have been poked in his little jaunts; time lines that don't make sense, airline routes that don't exist, the lack of an answer to the camera questions, and on it goes. And, while these anomalies exist, people are going to (quite rightly) question them.
If everything added up perfectly, but Racer refused to prove himself, that would be one thing; people could argue that he was telling the truth and nobody could suggest otherwise. But that isn't the case. Many things about Racer's posts don't add up - and there may be a perfectly reasonable explanation for this, but one is never given - and I find it an insult to people's intelligence to be expected to simply continue believing everything he writes just because "this is a forum".
Yes, I'm all for freedom of speech, but that works both ways. If somebody starts posting fabulous tales of being at all these GP, then it is perfectly acceptable to call them on it when things they are posting at the times they're posting them don't make sense.
I don't consider this to be bullying. To be repeatedly told it is not acceptable to question Racer about his claims and to be repeatedly told to simply "not read" his posts could be seen as such.

This approach might work for you. I use a similar approach for news sites, where you just passively consume information. This however is not a medium to provide news and information - admittedly it is appreciated if those elements are included, but that is only a secondary aspect. The main purpose is a forum of F1 fans to discuss their sport. And I do have a problem to discuss anything with somebody who does not follow normal standards of discussions, e.g. to pretend to be somebody else, or to pretend to be somebody without be able to back it up.

As long as your posts are within the rules then post what you like. You dont need other peoples approval.
I think some people take this forum far too seriously. If you turn out to be a 14 year old spotty kid, abd the nearest you have been to a race car is your mums Corsa when she takes you to school, then I will still have to go work and pay the mortgage and bills etc etc.
So I answer dont care.

*Given your track record so far, I am not prepared to believe that.
Indeed I would concur that your posts are entertaining, if only for the wrong reasons. This is not an endorsement for you to continue with the charade.
To reiterate, there is a question you should be asking the members on this forum and I’ll ask it for you now.
Do you believe Racer works in the Pitlane and Travels from Race to race?
I will start another thread for one of our straw polls and let the people speak.

pedekay:
Hi Racer
I was one of your strong supporters, and I believe that you are who you say you are, and I enjoyed your posts for their entertainment value.
However, I'm afraid I will have to say NO to more 'Hi from... ' posts. The posts are just too divisive and cause too much trouble on the forum. I agree with posts from other posters, who I quote below:
Redfrog: "I never had any problems with your Hi from ... posts until they started to cause disruption among the members. Unless you are prepared to provide evidence to prove you are in fact our man in the pitlane then I say NO. I will however take pleasure in responding to your posts as a normal poster and sincerely hope you dont leave the forum all together. "
Justrace: "Let me say again, your opinions are interesting, it is just the unsubstantiated claim that is the issue. So it is no from me, but carry on with "normal" posts, please."
Those two quotes express my opinion very clearly. Do please keep on posting, just not the problematic posts.
Cheers Racer, or should I say Fozzie.
Morning!
If you believe Racer is telling the truth then please vote yes in our straw poll. It is your democratic right.

There are people who think Kimi is a great driver, and even worse, there are people who think the dodo won a WDC on merit...
If people are that gullable, I say you make up whatever you like... go for it...
Just don't expect to be taken seriously, as the truth will always catch everyone out...
