well jack67, if you cannot recognise that you insulted a whole nation i cannot help you any further.

I see. So you are not able to show where I have insulted an entire nation. If this is the best you can do Aveli then I pity you.

You have to face up to the fact that YOUR WRONG. You have been shown to be wrong. Everyone that reads this thread can see YOUR WRONG. Trying to pretend I have deliberately insulted an entire nation will not alter this fact.  Your attacks on me are mis placed. I did not make you contradict yourself. I have not made anything up. I have not told any lies. I have merely quoted your own words to show that you have done a u turn and contradicted yourself.

The effort you put into these silly attacks on me and others would be better directed into coming to terms with this. Thinner tyres do not offer more grip. You have said so yourself. Accept it and embrace your new understanding.

    Isn't it "You're Wrong"?

That's a very common mistake in online forums.

Yes it is. Sorry I should work on my grammer. In my defence I have stated on a previous thread that I am rather poorly educated. I usually try not to pick people up too much for their spelling or grammer. I dont feel I should, after all I have no idea if someone on here has dyslexia or maybe missed a lot of school due to illness etc etc. I prefer to concentrate on what someone says.

    But thats just me.

Thanks for pointing that out though. Yes

I teach English for a living and the level of English presented by posters can be terrible. It is mostly because they don't think abut how they write but what they write. Note Diver's posts, people who have english as a second language at a good level often have much better grammar than us natives.

I would agree f.eric, the level of English is perhaps not all it could be, but lets be honest. We're not talking about legal documents here. It's a forum. I would imagine that with a very quick search I could find errors in vutualy every posters English in one post or another.

I am happy to admit that I have a poor education and English was something I stuggled with, and still do. Fortunatley I have the confidence to not allow comments on my education to bother me. However, as I am sure you are aware in your role as a teacher, learning difficulties are often acompanied by a lack of confidence.

To pull someone up on their grammer or spelling could be devastating to someone who has worked hard to sum up the courage to join a forum like this.

Actually yours pretty good, I can think of many examples here that aren't but I don't generally say anything.

look's like some people find it difficult to accept the fact that surface area is king so they are bent on writing about me and don't care much about insulting whole nations.

before you post again count the number of times you have referred to me in your last post as an indicator of how much interest you have in me.

    Re: Brawn's Aero proposal

f1 is a sport dominated by surfaces interacting with each other, be it wings tyres or engine components and hamilton is the best driver in f1, in a class by himself. that is all truthful.

did you enjoy watching hamilton display his qualifying skills today in that fantastically glamorous circuit in abu dhabi, yas marina? wasn't he in a class by himself, a whole 0.7s separating him from the rest of the field! fantstic!

sorry jack, mistaken identity. i am so embarassed after realising that it was someone else who took the same stance as you in an earlier debate so please accept my apololgy. i didn't mean to offend you. it wasn't you who made that comment, it was math42.

This is hilarious. I go away for 2 weeks and this thread is STILL going on! Big Smile

And just for the record, I didn't insult anyone. My comment was "Don't they have the concept of "a figure of speech" in Estonia?" so, unless your argument is that by me suggesting you might have a connection to Estonia is insulting their entire nation, you are once again massively wide of the mark.

I also find it amusing that pretty much the last 3 pages of posting has been this:

Avelli: You insulted an entire nation so I will not argue with you any more.
Jack: Huh? Show me where I insulted a nation.
Aveli: You insulted a nation so I can't reply to you.
Jack: Show me where I insulted a nation.
Aveli: Until you apologise for insulting a nation.... blah blah blah

    Repeat many times over..... Wink

and you haven't changed either, refusing to apologise for insulting a whole nation for no reason what so ever. why did you have to say what you said about them? how did they ever come into the debate? and why a whole nation? i am disgusted by those who insult a large group of people without cause.

if you still think you didn't insult them then explain why you said that.
