Re: Shoes for girls with big feet!

I am 16 years old and have size 10 and a half feet. It is the bain of my existence and everyone knows me for my huge feet and it does make you feel a bit less feminine. Although I have a great number of shoes, I don't actually wear half of them on account that they don't fit. My shoes are from Barratts (too small now got them when I ws 13) Evans and Long Tall Sally which are all great shops if you're over 30 years old, so me being a keen fashionosta is being appressed by the fact I can't get lovely young persons shoes which are unsuitable but look great. I feel cheated that I can't tottle around in huge wedges or stillettos at school. Something should be done about it and probably when I'm able to I will campaign for high street shops and designers to create larger shoes that are nice and if noone does anything about it I will open a shop no matter what else I should do in my life. It is also quite ironic that on this message board this thread is one of the threads which has the most replies! I laugh at that statistic. It's also really ironic that I'm good at swimming and it was commented on in those summers of swimming lessons.

There was a typo in that because I'm actually 18 years old not 16 years old, well I wish I was maybe it was the subconsious mind controlling my fingers.

Re: Shoes for girls with big feet!

I am completely with LoubieLou and all of you other girls. I have size 11 feet and it has been the bain of my life. What people with average sized feet don't realise too is that if you can't get any shoes, then it massively influences what you wear! You're not going to wear something if you don't have the shoes to compliment it... I have the issues two fold too - I'm 6ft and I have big feet - the whole clothing/fashion thing is nigh-on impossible.

The good thing is that things have got SO much better in the last few years. Whilst the UK still lags behind the US providing clothing for tall or big women and footwear in large sizes, there are some suppliers who are filling the gaps .. albeit slowly!

As most of you probably know there is a number of stores in Chiltern Street (where the flagship store of LTS is located) - a couple of them are getting younger, more fashionable styles in slowly.. (before more recently, everyone seemed to assume girls with big feet wanted to dress like a village vicar!!).. and online there are some great options coming through - I had some wicked silver party shoes from Amazona Style recently and I had some great, high heeled boots from Totally.

So don't give up - the tide is turning!!

    Argh!I am exactly the same! i am 17, nearly 18, with a narrow (B) size 10 1/2 feet.

It's crazy getting shoes. However, there is one place, near to Leeds called Medissa shoes, and these have been very helpful in the past. However, any other websites of shoes with narrow long feet would be greatly appreciated!

As you can imagine, having all your friends go out with new shoes every time can be annoying, especially when they always compliment their outfit!

    Thanks girls!

Re: Shoes for girls with big feet! - Or Boots for girls with big feet!

    Hi,

I have this problem too, I wanted knee high boots but I'm very tall with large feet, a double problem. Then add in I'm quite skinny too. You can find websites selling calf fitting boots, but even in their skinny calf boots the ankles are baggy. Now I have found the answer, ok they do not do shoes, but a company called Fitted Boots have started making tailor-made boots boots where you can get size 42 boots and have the height of the boots and the ankle made to your requirements, whether like me you need the boots longer and the ankles made narrower, or shorter with wider or narrower calves and ankles the possibilities seem endless, the other great thing is they do not even charge extra for this, tailor-made gorgeous boots at high street prices. You can find them at: http//:www.fittedboots.com

I hope this is of some use to you.

Re: Shoes for girls with big feet!

I have impossible trouble finding shoes too, but from the other end on the scale.

I am a size 2.5 wide fit; most high street shops start at a size 3 or even 4, and since I need to try on any potential shoes (to see if they are wide enough) that mostly excludes online shopping too due to the cost of returns to specialist sites.

So why don't shops support the smaller sizes either? Surely we should all be able to go into a shop and try on a pair of shoes.

Re: Shoes for girls with big feet!

There are more women in the world with Size 7+ feet than the industry know. They seem to be antiquated and predjudice against certain size feet! Its ridiculous. Look at the tennis players, the sports women. I bet 80% + of them have size 8+ feet! And we know they like to dress up! How does it figure that if your feet are size 8+ you cannot fit into the normal fashion scene and be catered for? The catwalk models are sometimes 6ft tall- and 5ft 11 is normal yet they are expected to squeeze their plates into size 7 which is 41! Now let me think their feet are not size 7 and if they were they would probably look out of proportion! I modelled in the past and I have size 8 feet which is 42 NOT 41!! Isn't it ironic that us tall model like statures are expected to fit into the umpa loompa race-fine let me slim to a size 10 but do I have to chop off my toes? Surely it is time the industy changed and catered for models and tall women and wake up to the fact that not only are they deforming our feet but they are also losing alot of money!!
