shumacher world n01: roomey: shumacher world n01:it wasn`t a case of mclaren avin a good day, more like ferrari having a not so good day (except massa of course). ferrari win 4 straight races, 2 back to back 1-2s,hamilton comes second in istanbul and mclaren declare there back in the hunt what a load of crapp. yeah mclarens soooo great that they were forced into the 3 stopper because bridgestone advised them their great car would not handle the tyres on a normal 2 stopper, i`d still put money on mclaren not winning another race this year unless it`s another of tho`s wacky races like australia.well done kimi for adapting his driving style in responce to the damaged wing, unlike lewis 3rd race in, TRYING to drive with damaged aero parts..... think the mighty reds are gonna wrap up the constructors half way through the season the rate their going!!!! hail ferrari. cant wait for monaco
Bet you can't wait for Monaco when you see Lewis driving off in the distance whilst Massa is probably in the wall. Possibly the most biased thread ever. Espeically when you have a name like Schumacher World no1. And please inform me how Mclaren are not back in the hunt? He did an extra top on top of Kimi's and still finishes second.
oh roomy do stop tormenting yourself,we all know lewis goes backward, not forward.i saw lewis lastnite declaring himself the fastest in monaco, although he`s never won there before and this is gonna be only his second time at the circuit in f1,lol.what an ignorant, niave little man he is,though`s sorta comments are way outta his leauge lol
You're not a true MS fan, if you seriously think Kimi is a worthy replacement...
Hamilton was the right man for Schumacher's job at Ferrari, but hindsight is a wonderful thing...
No Alonso should have been Schumachers natural successor.
Nah... Alonso can't handle real pressure... he's okay when his competition is handicapped by tires or something else...
I think Alonso already has one two many WDCs for his level of racecraft.

What for? For Massa to have truly been deemed to muse off the decade? However one off beat race, cant be the end of the road for Kimi!

Re: Kimi's lackluster performance...what happened?
The parallels between Alonso and Schumacher are obvious. Both largely blew away their team mates whilst on the up. Both served a number of years apprentiship getting to the top driving lower performing cars. Both won championships in cars that were not the best on the grid using racecraft.
Therefore a trip to Ferrari would have paralled Scumacher/Irvine coming in to replace two nearly men in Alesi and Berger with Alonso and a. n. other compliant partner. ( As Alonso prefers ) replacing a retiring Schumacher and a too good and ambitious Massa.

Correction, both impeded their team mates.

That implies that both arrived at their early teams as rookies and quickly demanded priority over their more experienced team mates. I hardly think that was true of Schumacher at Beneton over Piquet and Brundle and Herbert.
I think that suggests a greater niavity on the part of the teams than could possibly have been true.
I would suggest that the drivers earn their respect with the teams and gain dominance that way.
It's only by a true apprenticeship can a driver build up a right to exert greater pressure for priority. Maybe I would agree that here is a possible different approach between MS and FA but not on an excessive scale.
Truly with the larger teams the team comes first and the drivers second. Only a truly outstanding driver with a proven long term record can create a team around them and they alone.

But IMO its a good thing Schumacher isnt around and alonso is at the middle (hope he stays there till he learns how to play fair with his team mates) F1 is better for equal status now, and kudos to Kimi for not having a tantrum for it!

And you are right it is good that MS is no longer at Ferrari. With nothing else to prove, and the onset of ageing factors coupled with a declining influence in the team I think he got out at the right time.
Even if he stayed and won another couple of championships which seems doubtful his earlier indescressions would never place him as no 1 driver of all time in some peoples eyes no matter if he won 150 grand prix's and 10 titles.
As for Alonso his mistake was to go to Maclaren without understanding that they more or less provide equal opportunity for drivers and that he would have to tow the corporate line together with a need to bond with RD. That is why he should have cultivated a relationship with Ferrari where a change in team line up may have sought an instant MS replacement sometime in 2005/6 for 2007. As it was he didn't and Ferrari was seeking a change from Driver led dominance in their outlook.

After all the cruising in F1, it was fantastic to see Hamilton take the car to the limit lap after lap...
Just wish Bridgestone would make a tire fit for purpose - it seem to be more of a handicap tire then a racing one...
If Michael was around, I'm sure he would also be able to make its construction fail...

That can only mean that you have not been watching F1 since the late 90s. Hamilton's race was good and it enabled him to hold his place on the grid, but not more. It does not compare to many great performances we have seen in the last 10 years. If people are getting that impression from the weekend it just shows that F1 these days is not what it has been. Tiem for the 2009 rule changes to come.

Yeah right story maker up on Senna lol
I have been watching it, but kind of fell asleep while it was on when Mika lost a bit of form and left the sport. My fondest memories of F1 was 1998 - 1999, that and Hammashina's performancein Turkey sticks out in my mind EXCITING!

That just shows that your love/hate of certain drivers distorts your vision. It was a good race on the weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it will not rank in my list of best races or extraordinary performances. At least we have seen Hamilton being able to push hard for a number of laps, which he has not shown to such a level in F1 so far. So in that respect I agree with Hamilton, that it was one of his best performances in his F1 career. But still it was not magic, if he gained 10 more seconds and won, then it would have been supreme.

It's the sort of performance you would expect from a young Michael Schumacher... very hard, solid overtaking, and squueezing every drop of performance from the car... gaining more points then the computer simulation thought possible... and let's not forget, beating his main tital rival Kimi to boot, who was in a vastly superior car.
Good job all round...
