Well, thank you so much for your articulate, constructive and awfully intelligent critique!  By the way, if you read, her surname is HENSHALL!!!

    Re: Watch Out Ruthie

I feel that Ruthie is very jealous of the younger women, when Roxanne danced to-night Ruthie said "she didn't get it"she wouldn't though because she is past her sell by date, and I have noticed that each week she is quite catty to that young girl, but not to  Colleen or Melinda but they are older. There was no reason to bring her on the  Panel;she's spoilt it somehow,Jason is the Choreographer and dancer, his opinion is enough on matters relating to their movements but the Skating is not their opinions to pass,GET HER OFF!!!!!!!!

    Re: Watch Out Ruthie

It really makes me angry when people say that Ruthie is jealous!!!  What has she got to be jealous about?!!!  I don't understand how 41 is 'past her sell by date'.  As Ruthie herself admitted Roxanne doesn't 'do it for her' (not as you say "she didn't get it") but I have NEVER heard her being catty.  If she had a problem with the younger celebrities, why has she warmed to Zoe?  And incidentally Coleen is actually quite a bit older than Melinda!!!  As far as I can work out there are many good reasons for having Ruthie on the panel.  She has much more stage and performing experience than Jason (who is JUST a choreographer!) so is more than qualified to judge from this aspect.

    Re: Watch Out Ruthie

I think that Ruthie Henshall has, in fact, said about Roxy what I and a lot of other people on this thread think about her.   "She just doesn't do it for me"!!!!

    Re: Watch Out Ruthie

But she can't skate! End of. She serves no purpose at all, other than to annoy and irritate alot of people judging by this message board. Get rid of her and the other non skating twit, and leave it to people who know what they're talking about.A good suggestion earlier was to have last series winner on the ice panel.

    Re: Watch Out Ruthie

I thought judges had to judge performance not use their own personal opinions on the contestants.  Poor Roxy, she is a lovely girl, who knows how to smile spontaneously, unlike Ms H who's face would crack as she is so mealy mouthed.  Get her off the show I say.

    Re: Watch Out Ruthie

SHE IS THERE TO JUDGE FROM A PERFORMANCE AND DANCE PERSPECTIVE!!!!!  How many more times does this need to be emphasised?!!!!!  And the 'other non skating twit' - as you so intelligently put it - is also there to judge from a performance (and choreography) perspective!!!  The skating judges aren't necessarily performance and dance experts so that is why Ruthie and Jason are there.......to balance things out.

    Re: Watch Out Ruthie

I think most people realise what they're there for and if that's merely what they did do, ie judge the performance and dance perspective, then maybe most of these comments wouldn't be here.  It's the way they carry out their judging that's the problem - considering they are dealing with amateurs they are far too critical, personal and often rude which I think is totally unacceptable.

    Re: Watch Out Ruthie

I still don't get it. How can anyone compare "PERFORMANCE AND DANCE PERSPECTIVE" with someone on a stage and someone who is on ice?Thats makes one heck of a difference.I'm sure its alot easier to perform dance moves on terra firma than on ice.

Well you bunch of idiots. Firstly, Ruthie is 'past her sell by date' in dancing terms!

Secondly, all judges should be impartial, judging on their ability and giving constructive criticism rather than indulging in personal attacks.

Viewers may not like Roxy, (I have to wonder how many of these actually know her??) but it is not right to condone bullying on what is supposed to be a family entertainment show.

I don't care why Ruthie said what she said but what does concern me, is that my young daughter saw it and even she at the age of 7 pointed out how nasty her comment was!

The apology for using the wrong name was disingenuous and I feel that she should be suspended for 3 months.

Ruthie has NEVER been personal or rude to any of the contestants.  In a way I do agree with you that if they did just judge the aspect that they are there to judge, these comments woudn't be here but don't you agree that the fact that we are talking about them, papers are writing about them and the audiences are booing them is precisely why they do it.  Jason thrives on the oxygen of fame and he will get it any which way he knows how and that way is to be nasty!

    always right!:

Firstly, I object quite strongly to being called an idiot!!!

Secondly, when did you last see Ruthie perform on stage?

I agree that judges should be impartial, judging on their ability and giving constructive criticism and not indulging in personal attacks.  Could you tell me exactly when Ruthie 'personally attacked' one of the contestants?

I also agree that whether or not people like Roxanne they should not be condoning bullying but can you tell me which of us has condoned bullying because I haven't noticed it?  I remember saying that I am not a huge fan of hers (I can't remember my exact words before you proceed to find my previous posts and tell me what they were!!!) but I don't think I have condoned any bullying.

Could you also point out to me what Ruthie's 'nasty comment' was?  I remember her saying that Roxanne 'doesn't do it for her' which I wouldn't really call bullying or a 'nasty comment'.  If Jason had said the same thing, could you honestly say that either you or your 7 year old daughter would be quite so outraged?  If you ask me, a 3 month suspension is absolutely ridiculous for a comment like that or for getting a name wrong!  If you feel it is justified then Jason should have been suspended a couple of series ago!!!
