    Re: HOLLIE STEEL semi final

I am inclined to agree... Aidan's performance and approach to the whole show is much more grown up - it makes you wonder if Mum suggested that if it all gets too much then cry... Aidan's is so much more mature and it's usually the girls which are more grown up at that age. I am pretty sure that viewers on tomorrow's show will consider that she was given a second chance and the playing field will be level again..Still love Stavros by the way.

    Re: HOLLIE STEEL semi final

I am a mother of four children, and have 6 Grand-Children, I was appauled by what I saw tonight, all my children are talented ,but I kept things under wraps until they were 18yrs old and left them to decide for themselves if they wanted to take things further. Tonight, I am convinced we all experienced child exploitation in a new form. I wonder what opinion Social Services would have. Hollie's Mother has obviously become so swept away with all the glamour involved with the production of this show that  she is now unable to protect her little girl. In my mind, this was a new form of child cruelty, shame on her parents, the programme producers, and the judges for using emotional blackmail in order to get us to vote out of sympathy. At least little Connie Talbot thoroughly enjoyed herself

That wasn't good....stamping her feet.....she appears to be a very spoilt child.  I hope there are no tears and  tantrums at the final!!! ... she does have a lovely voice, but should only compete when she is older and mature enough..

Yes she has a good voice, yes she has potential, and yes I think she has a future as a singer/performer. But to give her another chance in a live audition is completely unfair to the others. I'm sure some of them while performing said to themselves I wish I could start over, but they can't. I know she's only 10 but in a competition that is not an excuse, it's a reason to maybe wait a year or two. Simon and the rest of the judges should be ashamed of what they did.

What do you mean her crying was real?  Look at the video on youtube, there are NO tears.  When she is told she can't sing again, she sounds as though she is crying really hard, but again - NO tears.  Great acting Hollie!

No one else would have been given a second chance. So why was Holly? Ludicrous!! I dont want to be nasty to her but I really dont want her to win now!! There were SO many other people who would have done better than her which is a massive shame, ad the way her mother mollycoddled her on stage was an embaressement. Almost like a school play!!

     Unbelievable!

    vodkadonkey:

i am sorry she is only 10 but the people to answer for that are her parents.

she was awful, sad to watch, embarassing, painful.  why did they not just put their arms around her and take her home instead of cajoling her into a repeat performance just as bad but got the sympathy vote, not fair on the others.

Yes, pushy mother, petulant child. If her mother had any sense or feeling that girl would have been taken off the stage and told, quite firmly, that she could try another year when she was more mature. Is her mother going on stage with her tonight? Is she going to have more concessions tonight? Will her mother go on stage if she performs in front of the Queen? That woman should be ashamed of herself, it is obvious that her daughter has never been told 'No', did you see the way she stamped her foot before the tears, when Ant told her they wouldn't have time for her to sing again. Utterly disgraceful, the whole thing. I just hope she doesn't get the sympathy vote this evening.

I agree with all the comments on here, she should not have been allowed to do it a second time. I for one will not be voting her because I don't think she was good enough anyway.

    Re: HOLLIE STEEL semi final

She is far too young to be on the stage and it's shameful her parents are pushing her too far. There should be an age limit for contestants. It wasn't good televsion watching her was making me cringe and I think a child of that age should be at home that time of night in her bed. At 10 years old children want to be talking about what they want to be when they grow up and that's all it is, talk. It's put me off watching the final now, it's made me so uneasy that I am some way encouraging this kind of exposure.

    Re: HOLLIE STEEL semi final

That was terrible to watch - she should have been pulled.  She did not have what it takes and she was too young.  The show is suppost to be a competition NOT the Simon Cowell favorite show - Would the other artitst have been given the same oppertunity, I doubt it

The wailing and crying was not entertaining and the whole thing was terrible and very unfair.

    cidered up!:
Did you see she stamped her feet when first told she could not perform again- Spoilt Brat!

I noticed that too. No They just set a BAD precedent.

My vote is going to Stavros Flatley.

There's some real talent on the show but why face the angst of choosing between them when we have the option of Stavros Flatley? This family duo has talent, a great sense of humour and there's no emotional blackmail (or tantrums) involved.

    GO STAVROS!!

    Re: HOLLIE STEEL semi final

Everyone is citing Aiden as a way in which they should behave - but he won! (Aiden to win!)

A  far better comparison is Callum Francis (who, IMO, should have gone through), but took it on the chin with his smilingm cheeky face beaming right through the dissapointment! Now THAT is how they should behave - and within "they" I can think of several auditionees MUCH older than Calum!

In most cases - the kids are more polite and respectful than too many of the adults. Why do kids get such bad press?

no she didn't, when she lost she ran off stage crying.

i've watched it on the show ,on the news and seen the photos , WHAT are YOU talking about you need to upgrade your pc monitor if you cant see that she was crying

most of you on here sicken me on the various threads with your hatred and bile being spread against hollie and her parents . she was clearly upset at forgetting some words and acted like a child would do.no more,no less.

yes the judges should not have let her perform again and yes they should not have put her through to the final. but some of the comments on here are disgusting and most of you would only be happy to see a public flogging or lynching taken place.

i hate to shatter your illusions but everyone on here at some stage has cried and gone running to their mother, and had a tantrum you've  probably wet yourselfs at some point!! don't flog hollie for being and behaving like a child the problem lays elsewhere.

    Re: HOLLIE STEEL semi final

Connie was upset when she lost, but she enjoyed performing and still does - very much so. The same can't be said for Hollie's performance.
