I know this is an F1 forum - fair enough - but it does seem that everyone's avoiding the real big talking points of the times and I think it's about time we acknowledged them.  Let's face it, there's *** all going on in F1 right now.

I don't think it's a good  thing to separate out cultural issues these days and it's a bit strange that the tragic death of Michael Jackson has been ignored (apart from by aname, bless you).  Is it because people feel that we must keep religiously to the F1 subject?  I don't get it, all these things are surely intertwined?

And the other big talking point for me has been dear Andy Murray.  My god what a fighter!  I was absolutely gutted this evening, I really thought he'd be in the final, so sad for him, but he'll be back.  Too much expectation from the British media yet again.

    Any thoughts?

Michael Jackson King of Music full stop!

Murray, what ashame, he should have been in the final!

aname - I am with you on MJ - I just hope he is remembered for his music and not for the controversies.  Tennis ?   what is that ?  never watch it.....can't follow the scoring....all luvies and things to me....

Fascinating theory Jax, this means you have accepted Lewis as a talented young driver then ?

    Excellent news Yes

hump,  how are you dear boy,  and god, you are pushing your luck you know,  no,  no,  a thousand times no - I do not accept he is a talented young driver - I will go as far as to say - he has potential - if he keeps his gob shut....

Yeah...I've got some thoughts...why don't you post your thoughts on a  Cultural Issue Forum, a Michael Jackson Forum and a Tennis Forum....where on Earth is the connection between any of these topics and Formula 1?

Not really any need for a response like that was there really? It was only a question.

I suppose that the connection is, the posters on this forum.  Naturally people who are interested in Formula 1, are also interested in other things as well.  Sometimes a poster makes a comment on a topic that isn't F1, and other posters can reply or not, as they wish.  It's a public forum, if the mods accept a post, it will be posted, whatever the content.  If nobody replies the poster will get the message, but in fact several people have replied to champ.

This forum is a small community of posters; we sort of get to know each other in a limited way. I personally am happy to reply to non-F1 related posts from people I've come to know and like, as far as you can know anyone through writing on a forum.

Champ, arent you glad Roger won? Darn Roddick didnt play any tennis at all, someone give the dude a cricket bat LOL

and how humble is Roger, after winning 15 bleedin grandslams he still refuses to class himself as the best (unlike Jenson Button) and is still nice enough to talk about his sporting heroes like Ali, Tiger, Schumacher and Jordan...what a guy, what a humble guy, I am just glad was rooting for him in the end! And I wish him and his beautiful gracious wife all the best! I really really REALLY like the guy!

LOL aname, I didn't really care who won....honestlyWink  Now just be glad Rafa wasn't there lolol

No, got to hand it to Federer, he is a great sportsman, no-one can deny that, I just wanted Murray to get into the final and when Roddick was so gracious in victory I thought well come on andy mark 2 lol.  Any match is much more fun to watch if you can cheer for someone, but when all's said and done it doesn't really matter.

Well he-llo, nice to see you too and thanks for keeping the thread going.  Don't tell me where to go or what to say, there's far too much of that going on in the world already, and to be quite honest this is the only forum I have the blinkin time to frequent, so put that in your nice respectable briar pipe and smoke it.Stick out tongue
