TIME TO SAY GOODBYE FERN. YOU ARE OVERPIAD AND NOT DOIN MUCH. SINCE THE WEIGHT CAME OFF THE ATTITUDE STARTED... FACE IT FERN, PHIL IS FAR MORE ENTERTAINING....YOU SHOULD BE GRATEFULL YOUR IN WORK , MANY PEOPLE WOULD KILL FOR A FRACTION OF YOUR COPIOUSLY OVERFILLED PAY PACKET. GET A CLEANING JOB, OR A CARERS JOB, THEN YOU WILL HAVE SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT. I THINK YOU ARE A DISGRACE. LOOKING FORWARD TO A FRESH FACE ON THE SHOW.

DAY 2 AND IM STILL ON ONE!!! WOT IS IT WITH THESE TV PRESENTERS? THEY ANNOUNCE THEY ARE LEAVING AND GIVE MONTHS NOTICE SO THEY ARE CONSTANTLY IN THE PUBLIC EYE. ON THE NEWS, IN THE PRESS, IN ALL THE WOMENS WEEKLY MAGS, PROVOCING CONSTANT SPECULATION AS TO WHY THEY ARE LEAVING,WHO THEY MAY HAVE FALLEN OUT WITH,WHAT THEY WILL BE DOING NEXT AND SUCH FORTH, THEN THE BIG DAY ARRIVES, THERES TEARS,TEXTS,LETTERS,SPECIAL TRIBUTES,SPECIAL GUESTS, FLOWERS,.THE FULL MONTY........WAVES BYE BYE, PLANS TO SPEND TIME WITH THE KIDS AND ALL THAT...THEN!!!!! 2WEEKS LATER, AS IF BY MAGIC THEY APPEAR ON A SIMILAR TYPE OF SHOW, DOING A SIMILAR TYPE OF JOB,SAYING SIMILAR TYPE OF THINGS...WOTS IT ALL ABOUT LIKE????. ITS LIKE YOUR SUPERMARKET MANAGER LEAVING ON A FRIDAY, HAVING HIS LEAVIG DO,GETTING HIS GOLD WATCH, THEN STARTING BACK 2 WEEKS LATER ON THE CHECK OUT!! Bit happier this morning!!!! wot a result for the lads last night. one step nearer to the world cup and am as giddy as a kiddy whos had too many orange smarties!  Thought ITV'S coverage was pretty good as well so no complaints there. It will prove to be beneficial to our ecconomy if, sorry, WHEN England do qualify, due to demands for merchandise, bookings through British travel agents, retail sales of footy boots, balls and shirts and such forth, beer sales in our pubs, flat screen tele purchases, barby food and drink.....just remember though, aim to BUY BRITISH as much as possible. support your local butcher and greengrocer...as quoted by one of our top supermarkets EVERY LITTLE HELPS!!!!   Going back to footy, i'm wondering if THIS MORNING have any plans to introduce a bif of our national game on to the show? There are alot of women out there with a keen interest in the game, including myself, and also, due to the unemployment statistics at the moment, theres quite a few blokes who would appreciate it too... maybe Eamon could do a fifteen minute spot on a friday morning or something??? nothing too heavy, maybe an interview with a top player, a ladies footy knowledge quiz, a competition to win football goody bags and kit for the kids... (the replica kits ARE EXPENSIVE!!)..... and if we do qualify, search for Britains most devoted fan or best dressed house..

    Re: General chit chat....

I've seen so much stuff in the papers at the moment about Phil and Fern, and all the drama - I don't really understand why it's been made into a big deal!

I heard that the co-presenting role is still open - does anyone know if this is this true? I got a request on facebook last week to join a group called "Phil & Jo", and when I clicked on the page I saw that a woman called Jo is campaigning to get herself onto This Morning, to present with Phil!!

I don't know about you, but I think that's a brilliant idea! I think that getting a "normal" person onto This Morning would be great to watch, and how fantastic would it be if the public could get behind someone so much that they manage to get on television?!

I just wanted to see if anyone else had seen the facebook group, or had been asked to join it? If not, have a look on facebook - it's really heartwarming to see how many people are supporting this woman. It made me join the group, anyway!!

    Re: General chit chat....

I agree that Fern is overpaid but i also believe phil is aswell. It is ridiculous how much money they earn for what they do especially considering what us "common" people are going through with the recession. I just watched them question a woman from the labour party about the recession etc and I just feel a bit annoyed because if they are so conserned about the recession why don't they try donating a bit of their wage to people who need it? Afterall they do earn more doing 2 hours work than people earn in a whole year. This country needs to sort out their priorities and instead of filling these peoples pockets with thousands for non-essential jobs the money should be given to the people who keep this country going and by that i do not mean the Government.

    Re: General chit chat....and ICT

There is not enough technology on the show. People live in the 'Information age' but this show is stuck in the 1970's. The reviewers give good advice on dresses, handbags, holidays and toys but what about the male viewers or, more importantly, the femail viewers who want and need to know about which PC to buy their children, which software package will help them run their home based business or which broadband package NOT to buy because it's not good value for money. What about the family who want to get into wireless internet in their home and did not know about encryption so everyone in their street was able to get online and into the family pc!
Mobile phones - it's ever changing, with lots of useful features, and very fashion orientated but nothing on This Morning. What about ICT for the disabled or dyslexic child - there are lots of them but completel ignored by the show - probably not photogenic enough - shame. The parents are therefore also marginalised and ignored. Dyslexia is on the rise but this growing group are let down by the producers as not being worthy of air time.
I am an expert in computers, mobile phones and web based techology - maybe they should have me on the show to put the record straight and add a little balance and modernity to this day-time dinosaur.

Richard Arnold said that Davina Mcall is is in the running for Fern's job! I will not be watching if that's true. Can not stand the woman. ugh!

    Re: General chit chat....

I agree....Davina is too manic for This Morning.

I also agree with the previous post that Fern changed COMPLETELY after she lost the weight. So sad to see her personality go down the drain with the pounds. At present, it is almost painful to watch her and Phil together. Her fake laughs and noticeable distancing of herself from Phil is sooooo obvious. He has remained himself....always smiling and nice, but I have noticed that he does not smile so much these days given her coldness onscreen.  They didnt even look comfortable together in last nights Mr & Mrs! She looks like she has decided that she wants to be regarded as a serious professional journalist with her change of mannerisms, dress etc.  Perhaps she should go off and read the news?!  The Green Eyed Monster is a terrible thing........

    Re: General chit chat....

Hi everyone, only just joined this forum. I read today that Holly Willoughby will be joining Phil on the show. That is nearly as bad as Davina joining! Why not have Ruth? We have grown used to her and she doesn't grate on anyone's nerves does she? I am not keen on Holly Willoughby, she always looked dazed, like she isn't sure where she is or what she's doing. I agree what people are saying about Fern (jolly hockey sticks). She is so up her own ..... and it is since she lost the weight too. Carol Vorderman did the same as her, she left because Countdown wanted to lower her wage to about £100,000 and it wasn't enough.

Cant seem to be able to create a new thread Sad

Just wanted to say what a lovely guy Ian McNicholl, 46 was on the Male Domestic Violence was. As a woman who has been through it you dont think of men going through it. He was an inspiration and i hope lots more men come forward as no one should have to go through what he went through!

    Re: General chit chat....

I've never been a big fan of Fern always thought she was far too 'mumsy and flowery'! But she is worse than ever now! I agree that since she lost her weight she as become almost intolerable and far too prissy, who does she think she is?! I also find the nepotism shown by the programme unacceptable in employing her husband as the chef! I can't bear to watch them both together cos i think SHE is embarassing, and at times he almost looks annoyed and embarassed by her!

I find the fashion (loosely titled!) experts absolutely shocking, please is that the best that they can do? Just look at (i think her name is Helen Boyle?) she looks a mess, her hair is swept forward as if she as a 'comb over'! Often in the close up shots you see that the models have ill fitting shoes, clothes etc on, the "experts" can't even find correctly fitting clothes for them so what chance do we have in taking on board their advice?!

As for Ferns replacement, Davina Screamer Mcoll, please God no, no one deserves that punishment in life!!!! Yes Holly is a bit ditzy! But Ruth can be smug. Coleen Nolan, shoot me now! I must admit i'm not sure who  it should be, maybe it should be a different member of the general public on some kind of rota system? Who knows, i don't? But it is becoming a very dated format. Even Denise gets on my nerves at times, she has a frown line wider than the Ocean on her forehead! She can't always be right?

    Re: General chit chat....

Im just sitting watching TM and the actress Sian Reeves is on with her 13 year old daughter.  Sian described her as '13 going on 27' and she wasn't wrong!  Not in her actions, she seems like a lovely young girl, but in the way that she looks.  I can understand that she would need a little make up as this is normally necessary for anyone appearing on tv (men inc), however, she was wearing more make up than her mother and presenter Ruth put together.  Her face was thick with foundation and her eyes heavily made up with black eyeliner and mascara.  Her lips were very subtle with just a little pink gloss.  Maybe its just me being a bit of a prude, but this young girl was extremely attractive and didn't need to be made to look like a little 'lolita'.  If she had been 3 years older it would have been more acceptable, but maybe Sian doesn't mind the attention her '13' year old "child' will get from older men mistaking her for being older!
