Hi Joanna.  o.k. we'll claim the knotted handkerchief, that definitely belongs to the English but David if you are reading this you cannot wear one on the horse and cart that's definitely a no no.

Fair enough, Mary - no knotted handkerchief, though I have a sneaky feeling the real reason you don't want me to wear it is because you might just find me too irresistible! Smile

And Joanna - sorry about the clash of dialect, just a wee bit of fine tuning needed. Although it would take a 'Weegie' to notice that! Smile

Smile Welly marks on the legs! What makes it even funnier is that he's telling the truth! Smile

    Brisk 'easterlies' are coming here!

... refers to a distinct change from hot and sunny to cool and wet here today. That's what comes from trying to send the sun up to Glasgow as requested, Joanna - I hope it worked!

    Re: THE FIVE LETTER GAME

    Quite unique! It's really kind!

Good evening, Wardy - I hope you're well! Sorry I'm a bit late responding to your letters - I saw them the moment they appeared but I have a really slow connection tonight.

    joanna:

... battering rain most of the day!! Got soaked 3 different times!

Smile ... Ah, that sounds more like the Scotland I'm familiar with, Joanna! Soaked three times - now that's just being greedy! But I'm sorry about no sun, I did my best for you, honestly!

Smile Are you sure it wasn't one of Billy's more risque anecdotes? But you're right - that now makes you a bone fide member of the Five Letter thread!

This will probably be my last post tonight so, if you're still around, Sheena, goodnight to you - and to Joanna, Wardy and everyone else, too!

Hi everyone,     I think i messed up on my last attempt at the 5 letter game.....RE (BRISK = Blossom Rules In Shona's Kitchen).......Should have been...Blossom rules in Sheenas kitchen!  At least, that's what it was meant to mean.....Oh dear, now i'm thinking i should have left things as they were! And to top it off, I fell asleep in my chair and missed your last post yesterday, David......Sorry if you find this confusing, but I will (hopefully)soon be able to get the names right........

STORM =      Should Take On Retentive Memory !

    Re: THE FIVE LETTER GAME

Bold rectification - one kitchen extension!

Maybe you meant something different, Wardy, but it looked absolutely fine to me. Then again, as someone who's taking a fair bit of stick just now for messing up the name of one of our regulars I'm in no position to criticise.

Just to make it even more complicated I wasn't sure if you meant Sheena (which I realise now, you did) or Shoma, another familiar name on here, whose name is actually Mary! Huh?

But absolutely no problem, Wardy. It's just great to see a new name around here.

    Re: THE FIVE LETTER GAME

    HI EVERYONE,

JUST A QUICK POST FROM TORQUAY AS I FEAR THE SPANISH STUDENTS ARE ABOUT TO DESCEND ON THE COMPUTER ROOM AGAIN.  THE LAST NIGHT I LEFT WITH A HEADACHE AND SORE SHOULDERS FROM THEM TRYING TO GET ME OFF THE COMPUTER.....ONLY JOKING THEY ARE NOT QUITE THAT BAD.  THEY DO MAKE A BIT TOO MUCH NOISE FOR SOME OF THE OTHER GUESTS.

SHEENA,  I DO HOPE THAT YOU ARE O.K AS I DO SENSE THAT YOU REALLY ARE NOT FEELING VERY WELL.

DAVID...YOU WERE ASKING ABOUT TORQUAY AND SORRY I AM ONLY GETTING BACK TO YOU NOW ABOUT IT.  SADLY I THINK THE TOWN IS ON A SERIOUS DECLINE.  I WAS SHOCKED AT HOW MANY SHOPS HAD CLOSED DOWN AND THE TOWN SEEMS TO BE ATTRACTING SOME NOT VERY NICE PEOPLE.  WHERE WE STAY IS OUTSIDE THE TOWN CENTRE AND IS QUITE SELF CONTAINED,  WE COME BACK BECAUSE OF THE FRIENDS WE HAVE MADE AND BECAUSE OF WHERE WE STAY......OH DEAR I HOPE THE TORQUAY TOURIST BOARD DON'T READ THIS OR I WILL BE BANNED NEXT YEAR,  YES I DID SAY NEXT YEAR AS LAURA AND AMY ENJOYED THEIR WEEK HERE SO MUCH THEY SAY THEY WILL COME BACK .  THEY ARE NOW SAFELY BACK IN DUBLIN,  OUR APARTMENT IS SO TIDY BUT VERY QUIET.  DESPITE SO MANY SHOPS HAVING CLOSED DOWN WE DID OF COURSE STILL MANAGE TO MAKE SOME PURCHASES.

ANYWAY, LOOKS LIKE THE STUDENTS ARE ON THE WAY AND MY TIME IS ALMOST UP ON THE COMPUTER SO AND EARLY GOODNIGHT TO EVERYONE.  Sleep

SHEENA,  A SPECIAL GOODNIGHT TO YOU...I DO HOPE THAT YOU ARE O.K  Sleep

    SWEET DREAMS  Right HugSleep

LOVE FROM ANNE , AMY AND LAURA XXX

    Hi, Anne!

Looks like I've missed you again but it's lovely to hear from you.

The overview of Torquay doesn't sound too great but I hope that isn't spoiling your holiday to any great extent. Having been there before you're clearly familiar with the area and having friends there makes all the difference. And the girls clearly enjoyed their week, so that's good.

Hope the foot's still improving and the weather's holding out for you.

Yes, I'm getting the same feeling about Sheena but she knows we're all thinking of her and wishing her well.

All the best to you, Anne.

    David
