    Re: HOLLIE STEEL semi final

i have loved watching all of the Britain's Got Talent shows.  But NOT ANYMORE.  Last night was a complete farce.  No other contestant, child or adult, has ever been given the opportunity to perform a second time just because their first performance did not go well.  Hollie is clearly just not mature enough to be able to deal with things not always going her way.  This show is a competition. And it has rules.  Hollie and her family were aware of these rules when she entered the competition, and they were also aware that Hollie could end up being disappointed.  To have a child's mother on stage, to hold her hand, was absolutely ridiculous.

The judges and Hollie's parents should be ashamed of themeselves.  They are quite prepared to see Hollie hysterical a second time should she not win.

What about all of the other contestants ?  The contestants who were not put through to the final because their performance was slightly below par on the night.  How disgraceful and unproffesional of the judges to put a crying child through to the final.

If Hollie was not capable of dealing with disappointment, she should not have been entered into the competition.

I will not be watching the final tonight and i will not be watching any new shows of BGT.

HOLLIE SHOULD BE WITHDRAWN FROM THE FINAL .

My heart goes out to all of the other young contestants who were not allowed a second chance, and my praise goes to those young contestants that dealth with their disappointment in a mature manner.

    Re: HOLLIE STEEL semi final

What people seem to be forgetting here is that this is a competition. Competitions go on all over the world every day, for both kids and adults. Never have I heard of ANY contestant getting a second chance no matter what age they are. All competitions have rules and the rules are there for a reason one of those reasons is to protect the judges so they dont have a moral dilemma to make it fair on all other contestants. The judges especially Simon Cowell have made a total mockery of the show and there is now way this final can be fair unless, im sorry to say, hollie is removed from the show. Rules are rules after all.

You can complain, I have.  To both ITV and to Ofcom.  As far as I am concerned it breaks the Ofcom code of conduct on children performing.

Holly has talent, but she is far too young and immature to be doing the show and she should never have got through just because people felt sorry for her.  The point is that she is expected to perform, if she cannot do that then she is NOT a performer, shes a kid who can sing but cant hack the pressure!  He mother should have held her hand and taken her off the stage last night, not started yelling for another chance (which if you watch the vid you will see that she did BEFORE Holly did).

This incident has really angered me, not against Holly but against the judges, the producer (who originally made the right decision not to allow her to go again) and the idiots who phoned to vote for her and her lacklustre performance.

    Re: HOLLIE STEEL semi final

I agree with you.  If she was like that in the semi-final who knows what she'll do in the final.  They should have removed her from the pressure there and then.  At one point I wondered if Social Services should take over especially after watching the mother making that massive fuss about giving her the chance to do it again.  It was all fairly appalling and if I was Gregg Pritchard I'd make a formal complaint - he was ousted out of the final all because the judges felt Hollie Steel deserved to go on because she was brave.  Well, he's talented in his own unique way and it all ended up very unfair as far as he is concerned.  It seemed the judges were determined to find in Hollie's favour and he was pushed firmly out of the final decision.  If you read this Gregg - you have your supporters who feel you were treated unfairly.

    Re: HOLLIE STEEL semi final

The producer did get it right, what they should have done is either carry on with the show or give her another shot but not allow people to vote for her. Its not fair on any contestant that has been in any competition. If Hollie did that in her audition she would never have been put through.

Ive never complained about anything on TV before but this has really angered me and I will be complaining to Ofcom and ITV.

    Re: HOLLIE STEEL semi final

And if we have ever experienced that, we as parents think of the child first, would be horrified to see our own child so visably upset and would not want to put them through it again, accept there would be another chance next year when she was ready and PROTECT her by saying enough is enough.

George Samson was told to come back as he wasn't ready two years ago,  even Alexander Burke on teh X Factor was told that first attempt was right for her and to try again. Its called wanting whats best for your child not the money she will be making with her tour dates, her CD and West End show appearances gleaming in peoples eyes.

    Me three!

Those were blatant crocodile tears and only worked because a young girl burst into tears.  What if the Dreambears had of cried would they have had a second chance....NO!!!!  Whats good for the goose is good for the gander.  If kids are to have different rules then they should have a different show for them.

Whilst we all realise that Hollie is still only a child, the prize money is still £100,00.  It puts mother's reaction in a whole new light doesn't it?  There were other acts who deserved a shot at the cash prize too....
