Ha Ha Ha so Pedekay is now Racer 111, must admit agree with you Pedekay I lmao at that one, you've admitted you're a mature woman! Now John T is Racer 111, ok when am I going to be him as well lmao xxxxxx Thanks r1-racing best laugh I've had in ages!Wink

That gave me a chuckle as well, and inspired me to create this

And here's me waiting for Fozzie Bear to put in an appearance complete with a backdrop of sand dunes, Arabs and camels!

    Hi

Wow, talk about stirring up a hornets nest.

I woke up this morning and found word war 3 had broken out

Please guys, chill out, on both sides, it’s all getting a bit nasty.

If you think I am a lire or a fantasist, please either do not read it or just *** me off, but please do not make personal attacks on people who make positive comments.

I respect your right to have an opinion, please respect their right to a different opinion.

As for aliases, I assure you the only one I have is “Fozzie” (see “vote for best post…”)

This might seem a strange question, but have you seen the film “Vantage Point” staring Dennis Quaid, if you have, you will know it starts with a group of men in dark suits and sunglasses walking around with a curly wire coming out their right ear.

Well yesterday a number of guys like that were walking around, looking very “inconspicuous” in their black suits, and because of all the visiting royalty here this weekend, were christened the “the royal guards”

But on the local TV last night it reported Hilary Clinton was visiting Abu Dhabi this weekend on a “diplomatic” visit to meet regional leaders (this weekend, what a coincidence).

So today has been “wind the secret service up day”

It started off with “Hi, what time is she coming” or “What time is Hilary arriving” but quickly degenerated into, people standing alongside them and discussing the merits of the different “sniper” location around the place.

Most saw the funny side, one guy even rubbishing some ones “sniper” location, with the comment “no the sun would be in his eyes from up there” and walking off with a big smile on his face.

Although we were having a joke at their expense, I think most people have a lot of respect for them, it must be a strange job, knowing you are expected to step between Hilary and any bullets coming her way.

Will be interesting to see if she turns up on the start grid tomorrow, and to see if MB can get to her with his mic, without getting shot.

JT is still moaning about AS’s actions in Brazil, strange because he is normally very “laid back”, but the fact that Toyota have let him and TG go, probably has a lot to do with his mood.

The Williams guys are very up beat about their deal with Cosworth, and recon it is a nice piece of kit.

Latest conspiracy theory for the race.

A lead driver has a fuel strategy that will require him to have late “splash and go” stop, which will mean that when the rest of the field make their last stops he will be in the lead.

His younger, more inexperienced team mate, looses it coming out of the pits and blocks the tunnel and the race is “red flagged”.

The race has gone more than 2/3 so result stands.

Earlier in the year this would have been received a good joke, now it provokes a heated discussion on “could they get away with doing that”

    How things have change.

Track is “rubbering in” nicely, I think we will see the teams getting to grips in P3, with which tyres ware the best.

Some rears were scuffing, due to the low grip yesterday, but it was getting better as the more rubber got laid down.

The “greens” are defiantly quicker, but if the grip does not improve, the life of the rears might be limited.

Right, got to get to work now, hopefully will talk to you later.

    Regards

    Racer111

PS  Unfortunately I can’t see the guys in the office changing my new nickname from “Fozzie” of “Mel Gibson”

    Re: Hi From ABU DHABI

Hi Racer 111, listening to Crofty and Ant this morning, they seemed to think that the tyre without the green stripe would be better as when the race starts the temps will be alot cooler and therefore the greens wouldn't be able to heat up as well. What are your thoughts on this? thanks xxConfused

If you actually enjoy his post I put it to you that you have a very low threshold of what constitutes informative entertainment.

Even the kindest hearted members of this forum now concede Racer is a liar.  Why are you justifying his bemused ramblings?

    I don't

and do you wish to repeat that slander before my solicitor

Stand up and fight like a man for once

These aliases are now obvious for all to see. It’s the passionate defence of these posts that give you away Racer. You are only fooling yourself.

Come on Mods do your job and start cleaning up this forum before it winds up permanently.

If the mods want to check out my ip they will find its in the north of england

where racer111's is i have no idea

He claims Abu Dhabi at the moment; we all know that’s untrue.

For a supposedly technical man of retirement age, you seem somewhat gullible?

What is with this berrating of people who don't agree with you?! It's totally out of order. Live and let live. If you want to challenge racers posts, I don't have a problem with that, but don't start slagging off other people.

    @Pedekay.

Is not just his reluctance to provide evidence that exposed racer111.

There were inconsistencies in several aspects of his posts, like the time it takes an airplane to travel from point A to point B, Getting time zones completely wrong, posting images straight out of Google...to name but a few.

The man is a compulsive liar, feeding his fantasy world is only going to help deteriorate his mental health. What this guy needs is a severe dose of reality.. that and a god psychiatrist.

I had a look back at old threads, Diver.  You and r1_racing are the two posters who seriously attack Racer, and you started with the Japanese GP.  The inconsistencies were questions which you and r1_racing asked, which were not answered.  For instance, re the time it takes an airplane to travel:

Racer111 "I am writing this on the plane, I think, some ware over the Indian Ocean."

r1-racing  "Really? What Airline do you fly?"

This is the only reference I can find to an airline.  Racer did not reply.

    Re the time zones:

Racer111  "As it must be only 7-8 am over there and I now a lot of people will be waiting until this afternoon to watch Q1-3, I will not spoil it by posting any info about what has happened today.  Go to go, got a lot of work to do before I get my 4hrs sleep tonight."

Diver  "Erm... 7 or 8 was it?  Don't you have a wrist watch so that you can give us the precise time?  Sorry dude but 7 or 8 just doesn't cut it for me, if it is 7am then you may be early for an 8am appointment and if it is 8am the you may be late for a 7am date... Now, what was it, 7 or 8... I am interested . "

This is the reference to time zones.  Racer did not reply.

Diver asked several questions about support races, Racer did not reply.

Racer posted some photos from the Internet, and said that he couldn't take them at the testing facility where he was actually working because of security issues.  These were the Google photos.  jack67 confirmed that the security there was heavy, and r1-racing said "now he admits he is talking to himself".

pt71 suggested that Racer should take a photo of something like his hand holding a newspaper to establish that he was at the race track.  It was also suggested that he could post a photo of his passport.  Diver, you posted a photo of your own passport, and someone asked if you had Photoshop.  f.eric made a good comment: "For a true conspiracy theorist the photo would be easy to explain, either photoshop or an acquaintance at the race emailing a photo of a newspaper..   Proof is so hard to come by these days with all that technology at our fingertips."

r1_racing accused cfol, jack67 and John T of being aliases for Racer111.  When they established they weren't he did not apologise.  He now seems to think that I am also Racer111.  I don't suppose I'll get an apology either.

r1_racing and Diver have both made rather patronising and impolite comments, such as Diver "Look son, you have been weighed, you have been measured and you have been found wanting" and r1_racing "Seriously, go and do one".  Racer has always been polite.

It seems to me that there are no actual inconsistencies in Racer's posts, as you suggest, Diver.  What it is, is that you have asked Racer some questions to which he has not replied.  This does not make an inconsistency.  He has not answered because he can't, or because he won't, we don't know.  There is no proof either way.

Finally, lympog made a good comment:  "Wow, there is something seriously pathetic about this thread - on all sides...  Seriously folks, grow up - if "rumbling" someone on the internet fills you up with pride (as it appears to do for a number of posters here) then there is something seriously wrong with your lives. "

Justrace has said it's a shame that Racer has to pretend because he obviously is knowledgeable and can write interesting posts.  I don't know if Racer is pretending, and I don't care either way, I just enjoy the posts.

You see, you keep defending Racers post despite being presented with incontrovertible evidence that he is a deluded liar.

Surely somebody of balanced impartiality would take the evidence on board? However your defence gets more venomous as the posts go on and you clearly attempt to divert from the issue in question.

This is how you get rumbled mate.

I am quite happy to partake in harmless banter and help things along a bit and talk about F1. I was prepared to take racers post at face value as it would be great to actually have a legitimate source within the paddock.  The fact is he fell at the first hurdle when he was questioned by genuine and well read F1 fans who really do know their stuff.  In reality, he wouldn’t fool a 5 year old.

A liar is a liar and there will be no apology forthcoming.

So those of us that have defended racer111 are all the same person? So because we hold a different opinion on this matter we are lying, or maybe we are stupid, or deluded or diseased? You remind me of someone else that posts on this forum!

You state you are offended by racers posts but I am afraid on this occasion you have been far more offensive. Racer111 really isn't doing any harm. You are starting to come across as a bully.

    YesYesYes

    I'm with you. Well said.

I'm with you on this, there really is no need to be so patronising or disparging to fellow posters. I know I have posted several times with lighthearted digs at racer but I feel uncomfortable with some of the posts attacking him. I like many people who use the forum have misgivings over his authenticity but do enjoy reading his posts, even if they contain nothing I don't already know.

People should just lighten up a little bit and cut the guy some slack, after all he's doing no harm.

Cheers froggy, thanks for that.  I've enjoyed your lighthearted posts hugely, red racer, very funny.  Yes, some of the posts in disagreement with Racer have not been made in a goodhearted way.  I guess it takes all sorts, as they say....

Gotta go and get the dinner!!!

Because I don't belive him as well and I am ineterested how all that will develop. I don't mind him posting I just find amusing that people might find his post "Hello from..." interesting at all, if you F1 fan. Re: Hi From ABU DHABI

    justrace:

It looks like you missed a few bits, pdk. I might have got that one wrong, but racer's first post after his return from Japan was unexpectedly soon and did not fit in with information he gave in other posts regarding his travel arrangements. You also seem to have missed that while he claimed his main business in Japan were customers competing in the support races, those race categories were actually not part of the support races.

There might be perfectly reasonible explanations for all this, but if it was a genuine mistake, it would be easy enough to correct. However, as you found yourself, while racer often enough reacts to other posters, he never reacts to such posts.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Considering the effort racer is going through to provide us with his service, and the little effort that would be required to add some credibility, in particular when there are these contradictions, it is rather unlikely that there is much truth in racer's identity.

I said before, and it is still true, I am not really bothered what is the case, but the whole story is more and more unlikely. If I put my finger in the air, my hunch is that racer is not there, but knows somebody who is, like brother or father or something.

Hmmm......   I respect your knowledge and opinion, justrace, you are right more often than not, and you are usually balanced in your opinions.  (Apart from your opinon of Lewis and McLaren, of course LOL)

I do seem to have missed the bits you mention, and would be pleased to get a reference for them.  I also do sincerely believe in the saying that, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is, as this has been proven to me by life experience.

It would be very easy for Racer to provide some evidence.  The doubters wouldn't accept it, but it would be of comfort to his supporters.  My feeling now, is that he may be there some of the time, and at other times it's someone he knows and perhaps works with.

Some of what he says, the little personal details, sound ok.  For example, he says in a post of 0900 Saturday, that on Friday he saw CIA or FBI spooks associated with Hilary Clinton's visit.  News of the visit was posted at around 2230 Friday, from what I found.  It could have been announced earlier of course, and Racer could have been trawling the internet looking for some such detail, but these visits are usually kept fairly quiet beforehand.  The spooks would have been crawling all over the area before Hilary arrived.  This suggests that he or someone he knows, was there.

Anyway, my feeling now is that I will continue to enjoy his posts for the entertainment they provide.  However, I'm not going to go out on a limb to support him anymore, as he does not attempt to provide any evidence to support himself.  I believe that this won't worry him, he strikes me as a supremely confident individual, who does not need the support of others to prop himself up.

On a lighter note, I am very amused by the idea that r1_racing thinks I am an alias for Racer.  What a hoot!  Cheers justrace.

    Re: Hi From ABU DHABI

My first post didn’t make it so I’ll try again in a milder version.

r1_racing, I don’t know how you can call my comments venomous.  Nothing that I have said has been at all poisonous, but some of your comments have been quite unpleasant.  And you insult people by calling them a liar.  Also, there are a lot of silly statements accusing various posters of being Racer.  If any one person were able to write under so many different names, with so many completely different styles of writing, do you seriously think they would be spending time on here making a fool of you?  Of course not, they’d be off writing “Harry Potter:  The Later Years”.  Some of the posters you have accused have told you about themselves.  If you’d bothered to read any of my previous posts, you’d know that I’ve never made any secret of the fact that I’m a retired grandmother.  You say you wont’ apologise for these insults – fine, keep your apologies.  I am seriously annoyed and I don’t want to exchange any further comments with you.

    Hi

I enjoy Racer 111 posts I enjoy the feeling that the forum does have someone close to the paddock gossip at the race meetings.

If you all think information is so easy to obtain on the internet, then perhaps one of you will be able to name that biggest yacht in the Yas Marina.

That should give you all something to do if the first pitstops produce an early red flag.

    Re: Hi From ABU DHABI

    Hi

First my thanks to all you guys would posted positive comments, they are appreciated.

Secondly, what a weekend, probably not the most interesting race of the year after LH dropped out and the Red Bulls ran away, although JB’s & MW’s last couple of laps were quite interesting.

But what a place, watched a bit of the coverage on Kangaroo TV and it did come over quite well, the only thing that you did not get on the TV coverage is the sense of scale, I mean it is “big”.

The coloured domes of the Yas hotel look big, but they don’t start until you get to the 4 / 5th floor

Ferrari World would cover a 1/3 to ½ of the track and you could probably fit the NEC complex inside it.

The Ferrari roof is impressive, but again there is at leased 3 stories before you reach the base of the roof.

Still a lot of roomers about who is going were, but as MB and Co did that to death yesterday I don’t think there is anything I can add that has not already been said.

Only one certainty, after yesterday’s drive, Kobayashi will be racing for an F1 team next year whether Toyota stay in or not, that guy has a real “racers” head, that move he pulled on JB was a classic.

EJ’s very public request to JK for back stage passes for the Arrowsmith concert, paid dividends, a member of their crew turned up later with some passes.

I think a deal was done involving access to GPs next year, Bernie would have been proud of his old mate’s negotiating skills.

    Talking of Bernie and EJ.

EJ’s comments about Bernie using Silverstone as a carrot to get the teams to agree to an extra race for next year, found plenty of takers here.

I have said in the past you can’t take any thing that Bernie says at face value, everything he says is designed to get the effect he wants.

The last scenario I herd was :-

No British GP, date given to “new” venue

After pressure from teams and fans, Bernie agrees to “reinstate” Silverstone as an “extra” GP if the teams agree to the “extra” one. (If they say no, the teams are saying no to the British GP)

Bernie lets Silverstone have its “traditional” slot back and puts the “new” venue on the date he wanted all along.

Or is he being even more “Machiavellian”, and did he drop a hint to EJ to get him to say what he did, to put pressure on Silverstone, to make them think he was quite happy to delay the decision until Christmas to get them to accept his current offer. (a double bluff)

If I new how Bernie’s mind worked I would have made a fortune years ago, you would not like to play poker with that guy.

One good thing about this evening format for the last race, was that the end of year parties, started straight after the race.

There were a little over 30 “official” parties in the Yas, and good knows how many unofficial, every boat in the marina was having some sort of party, and after an hour or two, having a pit or marshal’s pass, put you on the guest list of most of them.

And talking about marshals, it was great to have the guys and girls from the BMRMC here for the weekend, we are use to seeing them at Monaco, but it is nice to see them getting the wider recognition that they deserve, they really are the best and most professional marshals in the world.

And they do now how to party afterwards.

I don’t think anyone got to bed last night, and just before dawn, one of the local guys said, did we want to see something really “cool” and the next thing we know there were a dozen or more boats heading out of the marina to the west, were we watched the sun come up “through” the Yas domes wile eating bacon “sarnies”, again that word “awesome”

Getting things packed away, ready for the flight home tonight, still on the bright side only 19 weeks to go before we start it all over again, on the flip side only 19 weeks to get things sorted out for next year, still I love working 70 - 80 hr weeks.

Talk to you when I get back

    Regards

    Racer111 (Fozzie)

How you write is very simular to a guy i spoke to occassions, when i worked for an events company that was under contract to 2 F1 teams, this was a few years ago and i just wondered if by chance you were the same guy?

    Thanks for the positive comments.

I am sorry the answer is no, those are not my initials

Which is probably a good think for you, the last person who found some thing in common with me (knowledge of the MIRA Test Track) got accused of being me, or at lease an alias for me.

So at leased now, you are still you.
