as  usual itv decide to get rid of good family entertainment  but continue with new, but rubbish, gameshows and phone vote rubbish. what is happening to itv. maybe they should just give up and stop wasting our time. if they need to save some money stop spending it on simon cowell programmes!

I know Killing Primeval will save money, Also kill viewers. I don't watch anything else on ITV so I don't see how ITV will win on that. Wish it had not been a cliffhanger.

Re: sign the pettition to save primeval we need as many as possible

I'd just started reading Primeval Extinction Event at the weekend  - there's irony for you! I'm really disappointed that such a unique and brilliant programme has been cancelled. It's the only show on TV that combines science fiction with natural history - who knows it might already have inspired kids to become paleontologists. It's also the only fantasy series with a civil servant as a main character!

Maybe another broadcaster will snap up this popular and potentially lucrative show. It's shown on BBC America so maybe the beeb could commision it and give it the Doctor Who treatment ie tons of mechandising and trailers galore. It was the huge publicity drive as much as the writing and production values that put Doctor Who back on the TV map and led to two spin-offs. Plus the concept of Primeval came from the BBC's Emmy award winning Walking with Dinosaurs so they could use that as the trailer tagline!

We at least need a TV movie to tie up the cliffhangers but there are still many stories to be told. How about one where velociraptors appear in the Australian jungle and eat a certain pair of highly paid Geordies?

PS I forgot to say that I was really impressed with Primeval Evolved - a lot of work and thought went into it. It's a shame that ITV don't share that same enthusiasm when it comes to the show itself.

Re: sign the pettition to save primeval we need as many as possible

I have been watching primeval since the very first episode and just love it. Pure family fantasy entertainment that can be enjoyed by everyone. The last series was even more compelling than the first 2 with the death of Cutter.......who I'm sure will re-emerge in the future if only ITV would allow the series to continue.

Come on you controllers of finance at ITV. Can't you see that by cutting this series you will lose many millions of viewers, and therefore future advertising revenue over the next few years!  Pay the cost of producing this series now and you will reap your return once the recession has ended. If you don't do it some other tv company will snap it up and benefit in the long run.

If you need to save money, stop producing reality tv and so called 'talent' shows, and give us decent well written & produced programmes like Primeval. It is the best programme on TV.

    Cheryl & I'm from Cambridge.

My screen name says it all....... 'pinch me one more time'

ITV must be absolutely mad, letting Primeval slip through their fingers.

I am deverstated No Primeval No Abby No Connor.

    2) Our whole family love Primeval - its something we look forward to watching as a family on a Saturday night. We need good quality pre-watershed drama that families can enjoy!

Primeval is the best show on TV. I cant believe ITV hav axed it! I think their share of viewings is goin to be much lower now and they r goin 2 lose a lot viewers. This is the best show they've EVER shown. So much better than the reality shows. The fans need to know what happens and ITV owe it to us to give us another series!
