I think I know who Racer111 is. In cricket, 111 is known as Nelson. I only know of two "Racers" named Nelson... I enjoy reading your posts Racer, so please take no notice of the cynics and keep posting.

Hi
Thanks for the support
My son saw your post and said if I was a Nelson, did that make him a Half Nelson.
I told him that was the wrong sport, that’s a term from a sport were the results are all fixed.
He said, Oh! don’t you mean that is another sport with a Nelson in it that is fixed.
Could not disagree with him.

racer 111:
Hi
First my thanks to all you guys would posted positive comments, they are appreciated.
Secondly, what a weekend, probably not the most interesting race of the year after LH dropped out and the Red Bulls ran away, although JB’s & MW’s last couple of laps were quite interesting.
But what a place, watched a bit of the coverage on Kangaroo TV and it did come over quite well, the only thing that you did not get on the TV coverage is the sense of scale, I mean it is “big”.
The coloured domes of the Yas hotel look big, but they don’t start until you get to the 4 / 5th floor
Ferrari World would cover a 1/3 to ½ of the track and you could probably fit the NEC complex inside it.
The Ferrari roof is impressive, but again there is at leased 3 stories before you reach the base of the roof.
Still a lot of roomers about who is going were, but as MB and Co did that to death yesterday I don’t think there is anything I can add that has not already been said.
Only one certainty, after yesterday’s drive, Kobayashi will be racing for an F1 team next year whether Toyota stay in or not, that guy has a real “racers” head, that move he pulled on JB was a classic.
EJ’s very public request to JK for back stage passes for the Arrowsmith concert, paid dividends, a member of their crew turned up later with some passes.
I think a deal was done involving access to GPs next year, Bernie would have been proud of his old mate’s negotiating skills.
Talking of Bernie and EJ.
EJ’s comments about Bernie using Silverstone as a carrot to get the teams to agree to an extra race for next year, found plenty of takers here.
I have said in the past you can’t take any thing that Bernie says at face value, everything he says is designed to get the effect he wants.
The last scenario I herd was :-
No British GP, date given to “new” venue
After pressure from teams and fans, Bernie agrees to “reinstate” Silverstone as an “extra” GP if the teams agree to the “extra” one. (If they say no, the teams are saying no to the British GP)
Bernie lets Silverstone have its “traditional” slot back and puts the “new” venue on the date he wanted all along.
Or is he being even more “Machiavellian”, and did he drop a hint to EJ to get him to say what he did, to put pressure on Silverstone, to make them think he was quite happy to delay the decision until Christmas to get them to accept his current offer. (a double bluff)
If I new how Bernie’s mind worked I would have made a fortune years ago, you would not like to play poker with that guy.
One good thing about this evening format for the last race, was that the end of year parties, started straight after the race.
There were a little over 30 “official” parties in the Yas, and good knows how many unofficial, every boat in the marina was having some sort of party, and after an hour or two, having a pit or marshal’s pass, put you on the guest list of most of them.
And talking about marshals, it was great to have the guys and girls from the BMRMC here for the weekend, we are use to seeing them at Monaco, but it is nice to see them getting the wider recognition that they deserve, they really are the best and most professional marshals in the world.
And they do now how to party afterwards.
I don’t think anyone got to bed last night, and just before dawn, one of the local guys said, did we want to see something really “cool” and the next thing we know there were a dozen or more boats heading out of the marina to the west, were we watched the sun come up “through” the Yas domes wile eating bacon “sarnies”, again that word “awesome”
Getting things packed away, ready for the flight home tonight, still on the bright side only 19 weeks to go before we start it all over again, on the flip side only 19 weeks to get things sorted out for next year, still I love working 70 - 80 hr weeks.
Talk to you when I get back
Regards
Racer111 (Fozzie)
racer, have read all you have said and posted in recent weeks and am disappointed by one thing only - I cannot imagine any hotel, especially the 5* Yas or any locals having bacon butties available in a Muslim country, I know from personal visits bacon like ham, it is just not available and is totally taboo - I think you may have let yourself down on that one, you were doing well until then

Hi
It is only prohibited for Muslim’s to eat pork.
Pork is on the menu of the Yas as it is in most international hotels in the country.
The Emirates are very relaxed and do not force their beliefs on others, it is good manners not to eat pork in their presents, but it is not prohibited for non Muslims.
The bacon “butties” were in fact, cooked and eaten on a privet boat, owned by a Brit.

Im in awe at the length of time people have given to these ''Hi from....'' posts. I think it perfectley demonstrates the high level of tolerance we as a nation seem to abide to regardless of whats been proclaimed in front of our eyes. Shocking when you think about it but does explain a lot when you consider the state we are in. Labour anyone ?

racer, have read all you have said and posted in recent weeks and am disappointed by one thing only - I cannot imagine any hotel, especially the 5* Yas or any locals having bacon butties available in a Muslim country, I know from personal visits bacon like ham, it is just not available and is totally taboo - I think you may have let yourself down on that one, you were doing well until then
Regards
Racer111
Were you there in your professional capacity or just hob knobbing with the great and good on “Privet” boats Racer?
They can only be called privet boats when they have gone horticultural.

smarty:Quick question for Racer 111 do you own a camera ?????
He generally misses out these questions or posts things from Google Images when really pushed, although I dont think he will try that one again...
Oh I can picture it now, Racer skiving off from his duties in the GT race team for a quick bacon buttie on the back of a “privet” boat. Perhaps he could meet up with Katie on his travels and star an illicit affair ? (Bet Granddad would be none too pleased)
There are a lot of people who happen to find his posts both intelligent and insightful (their words certainly not mine) and they are not slow in defending his posts. So please, for their sake (and yours) best not to upset them.

Hi humpy
For myself, I'm pretty impressed at the length of time people give to the 'earodynamic' threads....

Hi
You can easily tell who the fakes are. They usually eat bacon butties on the deck of a "privet boat".
The genuine people in the know have thier own privet F1 team.
