I am a Geordie born and bred, I am also a Northern Rock investor.I watched Saturday Night Takeaway on Sat. 22nd September and dare I say it ................I laughed!!! I thought it was funny and not vindictive in any way (Dec did say he would return to the bank on Monday with the cheque) I think this has been blown way out of proportion now, everyone had been told a few days earlier that the bank of England and the Government were guaranteeing everything. Ant and Dec in my eyes were not having a dig at the people of the North East, and as far as Northern Rock and the North East papers are concerned I believe it is a case of smoke and mirrors,they are acting with indignation in the hopes that the North East people will forget who actually put the bank and it's investors in jeopardy! And who tactlessly wrote about it and set a run on the bank in the first place. The papers could have delayed reporting this for a few days to let the bank sort themselves out!!! I think you should put your energy into berating the people who are to blame rather than the ones who try to make light of it and show that the Geordies won't be broken No way No how!!
