I was watching the interview a teacher and when she said she did not have enough money to take her children on holiday during the annual holidays as it was so expensive. She should think herself lucky that she earns £32,000 a year. That sum is more than what both my wife and i earn together. it has been almost 18 months since i myself had any pay rise. I earn less than £12,000 per year and taking holidays is the last thing on my mind.

Precisely. By my reckoning I'd have to work around 20 hours a week, 7 days a week (i.e. a 140 hours a week) to earn that much!

No doubt teachers will say, with preparation time, and all other duties they carry out besides actual teaching they work around 140 hours a week.
