Are women better drivers than men?

Ten of Britain's worst learner drivers spend a week at the Last Chance Driving School. Some have failed their tests many times over - one person up to thirteen times, whilst others have taken lessons over twenty years, spending thousands of pounds on driving lessons

Last Chance Driving School starts on Wednesday 19th December, 9pm

One of those paradigms that will just not go away. Are they better drivers - no. Do they drive slower - yes.

Get 10 men and 10 women and see how many can reverse park, reverse round a corner, or even just reverse.

Interestingly the answer is neither if you rate it on accident per mile driven.  In insurance circles it is now often the norm for companies to ask policy holders to state the number of milesper year they expect to drive.

The womens average is 60% or thereabouts that of mens.

Taking this into factor then I believe that the statistics run about even.  Women usually get lower premiums due to declaring a lower expectation
