    Michelle`s pub?

Am I missing something here? It`s Steve`s pub, Michelle is an employee; Steve is her boss and not vice-versa; it`s Steve`s home and Michelle stays with him as his girlfriend, but not as his wife. Am I right so far?

And tonight, Michelle throws him out???!!! Eh, come again? Huh?

    Re: Michelle`s pub?

And there's more to come - Michelle is going to let Steve back in....but then kick him out AGAIN!!

Have they got new scriptwriters who don't know who owns what?

    Re: Michelle`s pub?

This story line apart from anything else is legally flawed, yes Steve owns the pub etc but we have the scriptwriters leaving his daughter alone in a pub without a legal guardian whilst under age.In real life this would be an arrestable offence though in this case a warning would be given. This is giving out the wrong message to people who actually think the soaps and the charters are real etc.

Does anyone know how to write to the powers to be at ITV as I can see nowhere to post them a message..thanks.

Before anyone points it out,I realise I did a typo error above and ended up with charters instead of

    Characters lol!!

I'd be more concerned about Lloyd giving a potential child molester a job.

Beginning to like Carla though - she's very good at judging a person's motives.  Had it not been for Carla's observation (not maliciously intended), Steve would have his feet well and truly back behind the bar by now by using his daughter for emotional manipulation.

I can't wait to hear Blanche and Norris' comments about the return of John Stape.

    Re: Michelle`s pub?

I don't think even Blanche or Norris could make that situation funny.  Janice made a few comments when she saw him in the cafe but no comments have any effect on those sort.  He just gave some sort of poor me victimised tosh to Lloyd about how he strayed due to a female temptress (a female temptress who was just and so legal!).  I agree with Eileen.  If I had a daughter there's no way I'd like her to get into a taxi driven by that thing.  That sort have no remorse whatsoever.

    Re: Michelle`s pub?

Such a shame really.  They seem to be intent on given the good natured, nice characters the boot whilst hanging on to the lowlife and the fishwives.

Yes it is true girls/women are always the innocent person in all this;as I stated elsewhere both the Rosie and John characters were in the wrong.Has everyone forgotten how Rosie virtually threw herself at John.I would be more concerned on how she behaved without condoning John falling for her whilly charms!

    Re: Michelle`s pub?

Righto! So even if she were 6 rather than 16 he'd still be within his rights to be "tempted" would he? Fact is he's much older and were she a few years younger he wouldn't have just lost his job he'd be in prison (although nowadays even that isn't guaranteed).

I suppose it'll make the proposed move of Kevin's garage more palatable now given that Kevin wouldn't want to live anywhere near a paedophile.  And true technically it isn't classed as paedophilia but to a parent of a 16 year old it must seem extremely like it given the age difference.

Looks as though Corrie's taking the sewer tour at the moment.  Maybe I'll tune in again in a year or two's time.  Can't get any worse surely?

    Re: Michelle`s pub?

If anyone thinks that the soap and the characters are real ,one glance at the action in ' The Rovers' would surely disabuse them. You would be more likely to get a pint in a circus ring. Behind the bar is where Steve and his family play out the most intimate parts of their lives and customers' requests mainly go unheeded ( unless Betty is around and taking a breather from making her hotpot)

The pub would be bankrupt. When Michelle tears herself away from flipping through her magazine in the back room, or plotting with Carla, she stands, arms folded and ignores her thirsty customers whilst she flexes her nostrils. I thought her arms were welded to her bosom until she smashed Steve in the mouth. Liz is either off for a crafty smoke or in deep conversation with the bookie. Shaun is apt to dash off in mid pint pull, as was Violet. At a moment's notice any of ' the staff ' go off to Ireland, Spain, prison, on a cruise or into the street for a punch up. Beckie, who did get to grips with the pump, doesn't seem to be around. But someone, with a good imagination, makes up the staff rotas. Why bother ?

Sean's a good worker though.  In fact he's the only one who ever seems to be rushed off his feet.  Strange how Vernon's taken to working now he's at Roy's though (given he always avoided it when at the Rovers.  Maybe that comment from Blanche hit home?) Smile

    Re: Michelle`s pub?

Email address is dutyoffice@itv.com if anyone wishes to post their comments about the ridiculous Michelle throws her boss out of his own pub story.  How dare she call Liz a harridan as well, Liz has been nothing but supportive to her.  I think Michelle is turning into one of the most dislikeable characters ever and that hair flicking - aargh.
