Looking in the sunday papers at the weekend, there was a whole list with pictures of  people who have been barmaids in Coronation Street over the years. Has anyone got a favourite that they can recall?

Mine is actually Shelley who always made everyone welcome.

          

Can't say as I agree with you about Shelley.  She was a bit of a doormat.  Mine's Betty - says what she thinks and *** the consequences but quite mumsy at times as well. .

There's a poll on the Corrie website and apparently the favourite is Michelle.  WHY????  Must be the only one those voting can remember.  Glad Liz isn't anywhere in the running though!!

Actually that's perhaps a false impression of Betty - she isn't blunt to the point of being totally insensitive but is the type to call a spade a spade.

hi dolly, loved raquel,bet lynch,Gina..tanya,   getting to dislike michelle, shes only a barmaid so what gives her the right to sack leanne, she thinks she owns the place.and now shes hiring becky...whats liz thinking of, michelle is only her sons girlfriend.

Looking at the list of barmaids a lot of them only lasted a very short time - I think Gail Potter (who of course is now Gail Platt) only lasted 2 days in 1976 when Bet and Betty walked out.

 

My fave barmaids are/were Bet, Betty, Raquel and Violet. 

Bet Lynch & Betty Turpin (as they were called then).  But Raquel was good too.

Don't care much for any of the current ones...maybe Becky will prove herself though.
