    Re: New Mum Problem

    Hi there,

I know this reply is a little to late, but there are two possible reasons why your *** was eating other dogs poo, its more than likely the reason she is doing it is because she is low on nutrients, i would make sure she is on a good puppy diet whilst feeding the pups. Also it can be a behaviour problem, which can be resolved by associating eating poo with a bad experience, try a firm NO, if this doesn't work try filling a plastic bottle with a few pebbles and when she goes to do it shake the bottle near her and again firmly say no, and she will associate eating other dogs poo as a negative experience.

Its not just something dogs do! there would be a reason for her doing it, its just a process of elimination to find out wheat it is!

    Hope this helps!!

    Re: New Mum Problem

This is nothing to be alarmed about.

In the wild the new doggy mums have the same problems we do, and that is house training.  The new puppies have no idea that they are not supposed to mess in the den.  Until they learn this, the *** will eat the poo to tidy up.  Sounds revolting but it is totally normal.

The only thing you can do is clean up the other dog's poos before she can get to them.  It won't last long as the puppies grow up or go to other homes.
