    CAR TAX NEW BUDGET

Have I read it wright, they are putting up car tax on people carriers, because they have high Emmisions, I am unfortunate that I have no choice but to have a people carrier, because I have 5 children, when I was little there were 4 of us in a vauxall cavileir, we manage but because the goverment brought in seat belts, car seats which don't get me wrong my children are completley safe in my car, but because of this they had to make people carriers, we are being peanilised, which is unfair, although it doesn't help, when the majority of people have them for three children as a fashion accersory.

my car tax has gone up too, i drive a nissan micra, so only a relatively small car, i don't approve of car tax at all, it bears no relation to carbon emissions/footprint etc. but is a good earner for the government. car tax should be scrapped and replaced with an addition on petrol. at least then cars that had a high fuel consumption would at least pay for the roads (ha ha) etc. also drivers from overseas would also contribute to British roads and economy.

Absolutely spot on, it is all about taking more money off us and nothing to do with the apparent "green tax".

some people are going to end up paying £440 per year for car tax dependant on CO2 emissions and it is daylight robbery.

I agree emphatically with all of you. I drive a 6 year old 1600 cc seven seater and at the moment pay £210 but on checking how much I'm going to have to pay next year (£260) I find out its going up AGAIN in 2010 to £270.

    WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But did you know if you drive a 7.5 tonne wagon you pay just £165!!!

Hows this for an idea, we all buy pollution belching old lorries find a few old sofas that have been fly tipped, put them in the back (help the environment!) and save the extra on tax to pay for the extortionate prices of the food bills today. And when we get pulled by the boys in blue use either a romany or polish accent to ensure we get away with it.

     COMMENTS EAGERLY AWAITED
