    How low can they sink?

How far down the "celebrity" league table can they sink before we get a reality series with people who are at least "C" rated? The big prize should be a starring pantomime role at some provincial theatre, preferably in Port Stanley in the Falklands (because there are no theatres in the Antarctic).

Well we're not likely to see A list celebrities on the programme are we?  Because despite accusations of arrogance aimed at David Van Day I would say the most arrogant are the A listers who wouldn't "lower themselves" to appear on such a programme.

The A listers have no need to appear in this type of programme. "I'm a Celebrity......." is a vehicle for Has Beens to try to get their derailed careers back on track and Wannabees to get famous for doing very little.  The A-listers are too busy working.

Yes I caught a glimpse of them "working" earlier - patting themselves on the back at some awards ceremony - like they don't earn enough as it is without getting an award simply for doing their job!!!  And laughing at Joe Public for daring to suggest that a couple of their members (members being the operative word) actually behaved quite badly in committing a perverted criminal offence and should be sacked.  Back to the lower status but more like your ordinary joes in the jungle, it is strange how those who appear on this programme are criticised for using it to help their career as much as to help charity (which is supposedly where the money from the calls goes) yet I've heard tell that a certain Terry Wogan is paid for his time on Children in Need - despite the fact it is supposedly an event to raise money for charity and not to fill the pockets of a certain presenter.   I wonder how many others like him are similarly paid

Having just heard the news that Cliff Richard may be considering Celebrity Big Brother next year I would say that's just was these type of programmes are in need of (all supposing people regard Cliff as an "A" lister? ).  Doesn't sound as though it will happen though because he's demandng his own bathroom.  Too grand to share his bathroom with anyone else?  It seems reality shows are destined to remain the niche of "hasbeens" and "wannabes" while the higher status continue to carry on with their heads up their own backsides!!!

The problem with these type of shows for celebrities is that they are shown warts & all to the general public.  Many cannot cope with that kind of publicity.  In some cases it shows people to be "better" than their public persona suggests (Robert Kilroy-Silk being a prime example).  So it isn't guaranteed to always be bad publicity.   And what's the difference between Children in Need and appearing in the jungle or the big brother house?  The time given over to charity?  Or the length of time in which the real person is exposed to public analysis?
