    Krypton Factor Cheating?

In the first of the Krypton Factor semi-finals, contestant David Brooks failed to complete the logic puzzle - in this case the Sliding Blocks.  At one stage you could clearly see that he only had to swap the last two blocks to finish, a fact also stated by the narrator.  All puzzle enthusists (including two of the other contestants) know that the puzzle is impossible to finish from this position - the blocks MUST have been laid out incorrectly in the first place.  David Brooks seems to have been cheated out of the chance of winning the heat.

Did anyone else notice? Did the producers care? Did anyone ever tell David?

With the puzzle... If someone can get a picture of the puzzle...

I think that there were 3 peices that are blank (EG, they had no track in them for the metal ball to roll)

To change the last 2 peices round (Eg like the peices 14 and 15)  You would need to swap the places of 2 of the blank tiles... There are a few puzzles like this, where it can 'flip' EG, from a seemingly unsolvable state to a solvable one...

This can only happen if 2 (or more) of the tiles are identical. (And if im right, they have to be an uneven number of places apart from each other) Eg on a chess board, one would have to be black, the other right...

So  for him, the top 2 peices in the top right would have needed to be swapped (3 and 4 if im correct)

Can the Krypton factor staff confirm this?

    Thanks

    Magus, yes you are right.

I thought that there was only one blank, but tiles three, four, and five are blank so that there is no problem completing the puzzle.

    Thanks for replying.

Hey dont worry about it =^_^=

The puzzle is a little tricky anyways, but I tend to pick up on the small things anyway, dont know why, I always get the details and miss the big picture =^_^=

I would love to get all the puzzles they have, maybe on a DVD format or PC game, would be very interesting. Would like to give some of the mental agility ones a go too, I suck at quick mental maths, but I would love too see what I am capable of!

    =^_^=
