I would also like to say what a real great pleasure it was to see Joe Longthorne on The Alan Titchmarsh show on Friday last. Joe is an amazing singer and performer, I would rate him as this country's finest singer and variety entertainer and yet we hardly ever see him on our TV screens these days, why is this ? Joe has so much talent and genius and so much experience as a performer, as anyone who has ever seen him perform on stage would know, it is a crying shame that he is not on our TV screens so much more, so that a wider audience could appreciate all that he has to offer as a performer. This country does not have many world class performers but Joe is certainly one of them.
To me, who grew up in the sixties and seventies when TV was rich with the best variety entertainers of the day, I feel that TV today is sadly lacking this element, we need people like Joe back our screens sooner rather than later.
In the meantime I would like to sincerely thank Alan Titchmarsh and his producers for having Joe on the show, Alan's show is one of the best on ITV, I wish it was on a bit later in the day, Alan is brillant at gardening advice and just as excellent hosting his own show.
