    I THINK ITS VERY STRANGE,THEY SEEM TO THINK HIGHER OF THEMSELVES THAN THEY DO THEIR GUESTS,I USED TO FANCY PETE WHEN HE WAS A SINGER IN THE LATE NINETIES BUT NOW I THINK HES AN IDIOT, AND SHES A BIGGER ONE.THEY SHOULD KEEP THEIR PRIVATE LIFE PRIVATE AND ACT THEIR AGES,I DONT LIKE THIS SHOW OR THEM,ITS A WASTE OF TV SPACE.

    There was a time when celebrity meant something; ie, you had actually achieved something. These days it would seem that exposure of any kind is enough.Last night's Katie and Peter was the icing on the cake in a long line of trash media star programmes and magazine frenzies. What is going on in this country?You might call it giving the public what they want. However, I believe the media channels have a responsibility and that doesn't include promoting shameful vulgarity that induces and fosters voyeurism.Both Katie and Peter are vulgar people who have become successful through careful and clever manipulation of the appropriate channels. Their achievement is notable for doing so, but they haven't really achieved very much. Witnessing their live 'tiffs', the parent child manipulation and the frequent sexually vulgar comments was embarrassing. What's worse is that ITV find this acceptable, what's worse is the message you send out to Britain is that this kind of behaviour is acceptable. What's even worse is that they are rewarded very handsomely for very little while people who actually make a difference, such as essential service workers, receive little reward or recognition beyond the constant media battering of how bad the NHS is.I am no prude: I've been around the block many times in all senses, but I do not feel the need to share this with everyone else. Like Jade Goody, Katie and Peter are low grade shock celebrities packaged as something to aspire to and you are responsible for sanctioning this.These people become role models because of their presence in the media. Dear God in heaven, these 'role models' can't even speak the language properly. Come on ITV, give us something to aspire to, something to strive for, something worth admiring.I decided to post this on your forum and I noticed that you have all kinds of terms of conditions, one of which is that we agree not to post any kind of sexually explicit material.Do you see a contradiction? It's not ok to post sexually explicit material or comments even, and then we witness the extraordinary vulgarity of Katie's sexually explicit comments broadcast around the country. Ok, so you may say I didn't have to turn my TV on. Correct, I didn't and I won't be tuning in again.
