Ye Right - she is really going to fake crying and totally ruin her performance and blow any chance of possibly winning in order to get more votes - ye that makes perfect sense
There were always going to be people that would vote for her simply because she was a cute 10 year old - And she would of got about the same number of votes whatever happened - If she done a perfect performance then those that gave her a sympathy vote would of voted for her perfect performance - but because she broke down those that might of voted for her performance gave her a sympathy vote instead - she certainly did Not get more votes because she broke down and cried
There are a lot of people that vote using their heart for the cutest or the youngest act or the act with the most heart warming story - but holly was never going to win because MOST people vote using their head and voted for the act with the most talent
Those busybodies you refer to do at least have a firm grasp on reaity
There are a minority of kids that cant be bothered with their homework and tell their parents that they dont have any homework - But very few of those parents would tell the school that their kids dont get enough homework - - - And even if Any of the parents did tell the school their kids dont get enough homework - First the school would tell the parent that the kid Did in fact have homework but had not done it - Second the school would certainly Not give all the kids more homework because of a small minority of parents that said their kids dont get enough homework - - - Any responsible parent would complain to the school if their kid had enough homework to keep them up til 2am - And no responsible parent would allow their kid to stay up til 2am on school nights, not even to do homework - - - Almost All homework is in some way related to and conneted to work done in school
She didn't actully break down, if she broke down she wouldn't have asked to sing again. She went wrong in the song so she started to cry, an adult would have just picked their self up again on the next line but she is a child so she cried like a lot of children would have.
Those busy bodies dont have a grasp on reality, they just like to moan. There were a lot of busy bodies (probably the same people) who don't like junk food companies making money so they made ofcom ban adverts for junk food during childrens programmes dispite the fact that not only were the adverts never mentioned food and only the toy but also children dont buy junk food, it is the parents who buy it for them. Then they make the case that they buy it because their children always go on non stop about it which would suggest that if their children went on non stop about wanting drugs and alchol their parents would buy it. After the ban is put in place they then complain that there are new happy meals are being advertised to children when these adverts comply with the ban as they are advertising fruit bags and carrot sticks as well as the toy.
The problem with parents who tell the school that their children dont get enough home work is that they are obsessed with complaining so the school give more home work to shut up the parent who keeps complaining because it is easier in the long term as they would only start a group of parents who demand more home work and complain to ofstead who will tell the school they have to issue more home work. Also the school would probably not want to say to the parents that their child did actully have home work as some parents would be offended. The teachers knew that the home work was not being done as they always had hour detentions after school full of pupils doing their homework.
My parents did compain but there were more parents saying that there was not enough home work and although my parents would have been able to fund a large campaign it is more the amount of people in the group is more important than the amount of money the leaders of the group has and bribing was not really an option. In the parent teacher confrences where the school board answered questions from parents there were a larger amount of parents who said their children dont get enough home work than those who said they get too much, although they never asked people if they thought the amount of home work was ok. After a few months my head of year said I was alowed to give some home work later than other people as long as I didn't tell the other students. In the school I was in they gave home work because a large amount of parents complained so it was mainly work in the text books we were given
