There have to be other people out there who are sick to the heart that nothing is being done to rid dogdom of the dodgy breeders. There's plenty of talk, spouting good intentions, but always with an eye to checking their backs legally. That's ok, I suppose, but they seem to be endlessly chasing their own tails and the poor dogs are still suffering. Now I find out there's an organisation trying to rival the Kennel Club by offering to register dogs. What's going on? The Kennel Club is the Establishment, an institution, and, despite recent twisted TV coverage, they've been fighting an uphill battle against dodgy breeders for years. Come on people, wake up, dogs are not disposable goods. A dog is your companion, confidant, confessor and always a cuddle when you need one. Dodgy breeders don't care about the homes and lifestyles being offered to their puppies, they don't see precious little lives, they count the cash as the puppies pop out. They neither know nor care about the genetics or temperaments they are breeding. They don't care about the lifetime of Vet's bills you're going to have. Are you reading this because you have a story about a dodgy breeder? Would you like to share it? Let's speak up, open people's eyes. Wouldn't it be an idea to set up a reliable Breeders Register, where they don't just pay money and get their pups sold for them. Make it free, but make it hard, very hard, to get their names on. They would have to meet strict criteria with regards to their kennel's history, bona fide reports and reccomendations from people who have bought puppies/dogs from them, Vet's commendations about their dedication to their dogs etc. Come on, anyone interested in making a difference?
