    madelaine one year on

i am just leaving a message for maddie's mum and dad. i am a mother of three boys, three grandsons and one grandaughter, i cannot comprehend any one of them going missing. i pray for you each night thqt you get the rest to face the next day, i also hope very soon that you get your precious child back. i am not the type of person who usually writes into these forums, but i felt compelled to write to you with my prayers and good wishes to you and your whole family. with love from yvonne, in bridlington west yorkshire.

I am shocked! I hadn't realised it had been that been so long, this raises the issue that now this is not flavour of the month and things have calmed down somewhat, why haven't the parents been charged yet? after all it is against the law to leave children of that age alone whilst you go out with your mates!

My wife came in from the supermarket and I asked where my daughter was? she replied that she was asleep in the car! ..... So I went and sat in the car until she woke up! am I an unusualy cautious and caring parent? or are they particularly poor? either way whilst my heart is filled with sorrow for their loss I still find it hard to condone the conditions under whitch this terrible event occured! we were only x number of yards away doesn't cut it with me I'm sorry.

If this makes me a negative saddo! then so be it! and I am aware that people are no longer entitled to their opinions! so I'm making sure I get mine in before it's too late.

It would be lovely if Madeleine was found i am sure she is still alive out their somewhere but with the passing of time i doubt we would even recognise her now except for her eye defect..I am sure we all wish a safe return of the little girl.

We can only hope that she is found after all of this time.

Don't forget about the thousands of other children who disappear, some turn up, some are found but others are still missing through no fault of the parents.

    Re: madelaine one year on

Sadly, the eye defect may be the cause of her death.  Because it  would bring attention to them  the kidnappers could never have it removed or changed and even Maddie would recognise herself in newspaper stories gone by when she is an adult -  or whoever 'bought' or 'adopted' her would not be safe, she is so easily recognisable by that mark what other option would they have but to end her life to save their own?

But children do turn up 20 years later so until she is found either dead or alive there is still hope.
