Britains Best Dish ? It's Curry. So why not have a show specialising in that?

Hello everyone,  Curry is the United Kingdoms best dish, personally I think it rocks big time. So why not have a show specialising in curry?

ITV's  Britains Best Curry or something, how many people can cook curry properly in the U.K ?  not many, most still use jars, pastes, packets  etc...

There a a couple of generations that need educating and quickly.

I think it needs an asian Gary Rhodes, and you know what ?  I think ITV should recruit direct from India and create a star get a young 20's chef.  Gary Rhodes when he went to India with another food channel ,was O.k  But he wasnt happy with the spices was he?  too nervous," HOW much spice is going in there?" , you could see it on his face bless him....

Yes Gary, "just look at that full of taste, full of flavour, what more could you want ?"  I'll tell ya, the correct amount of spice as per recipe of the master who was instructing you..... mmm any how....

Briatins best Curry, lets have it....

    Cheers everyone

    Good cooking

If you're wanting a spice king, why not Atul Kochhar?  As I recall, he did beat Gary Rhodes in the heat of Great British Menu.   He has a book out with lots of nice recipies.

And the BBC recently did a show on Indian cookery with Anjum Amand.

My Indian friends tell me that they never eat in Indian restaurants in England because what is sold has been Anglicised to a point that is unrecognisable as Indian food.

If they want to eat out on what they recognise as curry they go to a Thai restaurant. The difference has been demonstrated to me.

The title of the show is a joke,How can it show britains best dish when 1.Many of the dishes do NOT originate in britain. 2.How can you have a judge who only really knows about wine and sometimes appears with her hair looking like its been through a wild hedge. What a shame as john is such a good chef ! being dragged down several levels.

Oh and in case you think I am biased,YES I LOVE HOT HOT CURRIES.
