Super programme but I can confidently  say that the spelling of the "chipole" pudding is not correct. I am a born and bred devonian "maid" and I have used the term CHIPPLE ( correct spelling) for a spring onion since a child. I have checked the spelling in Clement Martins dictionary of devonshire words and phrases and he also corroberates this.

It was quite funny to hear the "experts" trying to pin down the origin of this word - Mexican? I think not.
