In the Alan Titchmarsh show today, a clip was shown of the old James Bond film "The Man With the Golden Gun". The clip was of the duel scene, where Nick Nack, who is of obvious ethnical minority, counts down for the duel. When James Bond turns around, Scaramanga is gone. After watching the clip, Alan said "Where he go?" in an obvious Asian accent. I consider this offensive and racist. Does anyone else agree with me?

No I do not agree with you. I'm sick to death of the 'racist card' coming out all the blooming time. It's called humour. I think the show ig great. I have a very strong Welsh accent and I have the mickey taken out of  my accent all the time by my Scottish and English friends. It's all good humour.

What a load of Garbage, no i don't agree with you, Titchmarsh is not racist or offensive, he has "wormed" [excuse the pun] his way into a great living, better than digging!, loose all this being racist?, never. And by the way as a fellow Yorkshireman [lived just over the hill from him in Airdale] the only thing i would criticise is that he should have fewer guests so they can be correctly interviewed,or cut down on the advertising time, as the other day interviewing Robert Hardy, who was just settling in and he cut him off in mid flow.

I don't know about being racist I am more concerned about AT's obvious political slant. Not a right wing supporter at all, as someone claims, but a leftie as he was so keen to say together with his pals Ken Livingstone and others on today's programme.

Now if I wanted to view a political programme I would do so, I do not want a panel of people to say with apparant dismay that they do not want the Conseratives to win the next election,,,with Red Ken on the panel what do you expect?   Ken's policies got him out of office and he is still on tv quite frequently waving his flag.  I thought the AT Show was about entertainment not supplying a platform for left wing politics.  Today Alan must have lost a lot of viewers who do not want to hear about Brown embarrassing himself with his economic policies on his US visit .....as the American guest said  'How Quaint'....I think 'How Embarrassing'  .....surely the point was made by the US when the press confernece by Brown was so low key.

As for racism well, I had my fair share of this directed at me by black Africans when working in Africa  but I never let it bother me as they view the world from their own point of view and so be it..it is their opinion.  This is every day life.   However, to be exposed to Livingstone and his views whilst having an afternoon cuppa and a bicci is too much. I expected an hour of entertainment.

Alan's guests do not have long enough on the show except Robert Vaughan yesterday who obviously disliked Yul Brynner and is still 'bringing it up' all these years down the line.  Yul was 100 per cent more sexy and had more screen impact than Vaughan will ever have.

Now I feel better........

It seems that you have difficulty grasping that it does not matter which colour or religion or which country that a particular person happens to be in,on this forum we all have the same right to express our views regardless of whether people agree or not.For example say if the person responsible for the initial post on this thread had a different username ie Fred Rogers do you think that the people who have already posted on this thread would have reacted differently to how they have had?, and also would some of the posts have still used as much "if you dont like it go home" statements??.
