amyyy89: lukef212004:hi, i had to re ignite this debate to see if peoples views have changed now that we have seen 7 races of this season. hamiltons arrogance increases by the day, yet if anything, his driving seems to get worse. like father like son eh....in the same week his dad crashes a carrera gt, lewis crashes his f1 car.lol. his dad was probably making screeching car noises pretending to be lewis. well that backfired didnt it andrew: and the whole white shirt, black jacket combo really irritates me....is he trying to look like harry hill?lol
well i can't see him winning this year & for me kubica looks the far better driver
Kubica has done well and is certainly punching above his weight at present. I would definitely not say that he is much better than Hamilton though. Pressure is a big factor and Robert probably has the same amount of pressure on him that Lewis had at this time last year. Less in fact. I think that that is helping him to a degree whereas Lewis is crumbling under it it seems

yes i agree, i think mclaren have put lots of pressure on lewis to win the title, whereas bmw are not really in that position yet to be fighting for titles so obviously there is going to be less pressure on the drivers.

LOL Well if he is he hasn't quite got the look right, but the hair's quite close, he just needs bigger collars and some glasses.
As for LH and the WDC, I wouldn't say I'd never want him to win, although he wouldn't exactly be my first choice. You're right about his big-headedness, it is annoying, but his personality shouldn't stop him winning. It's what he does on the track that counts. Unfortunately he is not very consistent and the many silly mistakes he makes suggest that he cracks under pressure. The funny thing is, these mistakes always seem to follow one of his cocky speeches where he gives the impression that he thinks he's better than the others and that the race ahead will be a doddle and all it will take to win is a miracle move of some kind. Perhaps he needs to start seeing F1 as the challenge it is rather than assume it is easy. If he had less of the I'm the greatest-type attitude he might make fewer mistakes.

Re: Does anyone hope LH never wins a title!??
I think Hamilton is a good driver not champion material yet who knows i might be proved wrong hes a good driver no doubt i wont deny that. But he is not bigger than the sport as for his skills hes good but he has a good car aswell. What i dislike about him is comments like " il learn from Sennas mistakes " " im sorry if i ruined his race " "The monkeys at the back " Stuff like that. I know the guys only human but it would be nice if he held his hand up and say look i made a mistake. Takes a bigger man to admit to messing up than trying to worm ya way out of it. I feel his confidence is just over the border line with arrogance. To much to soon and its went to his head. At Canada when he pushed the camera away i thought come on man how bad mannerd after the broadcaster bigs you up and everything.
I dont wish him not to win a championship i just think he needs to become a bit more grounded if you will a touch with reality. Maybe a year or two when he learns how to conduct his self not in the ways of his current teams grooming and interview technique.
Theres always a sense that whatever he says he cant be held to it and i find that very shallow not very honest.
Just my opinion thankyou for reading

Re: Does anyone hope LH never wins a title!??
I think years of robot style training at Mclaren has had its toll.
I don't think he understands the meaning of some of the words and the implications. So you have to accept him as it is, I also think it is too late for him to change. So you have to prepare yourself, because soon or later he will become a WDC, and you will have to put up with goddish claims or maybe just maybe he becomes a humble person, who knows???
So far as hoping him not to win, I couldn't do that, despite him being my least favorite driver, I still want Mclaren to win the WCC. So if the wonderboy wins cleanly, than he deservs to win it, I just don't listen to what he says or turn the volume down.
He really made me laugh, when after the accident, Louise ask him what happend, his first reply was, "I don't know what happend"

stigga:That's a disaster in a modern kitchen, when a bowl is minding it's own business and get's clattered by an inexperienced wayward bowl, did you practice with said bowl on Friday ? did it show tendencies to oversteer ? perhaps you pressed the wrong button on the microwave, and simply "overcooked" it, it's all to easy to do sadly.
I cant barely type this through the tears of laughter. Between you, baldyone and cyclone I am in creases about your ingenious soup theory.
Anyhoo back to the topic, I dont agree with the thread, I dont mind if Lewis wins a title, as long as Kimi is no longer racing when he does it as I want him to win all the time. I have to stay true to my driver, support him through the good and bad and be utterly inconsoleable if and when he retires, as is my right!
As I have said in other threads, I feel sorry for Lewis as he has been put on a very high pedestal by many (including himself) and its a long way down when you dont get it right. But I dont wish he never wins a title, just like I dont wish that on anyone else.

According to rumours, you man will retire next year. How do you feel about that?

Oh dear, getting a bit low on ammunition? Those rumours have been going around for ages and I'll deal with it when the time comes but your concern truly touches me in place I never knew I had.

Well if it made you laugh that's no bad thing eh As to the original topic, No I still dont hope he never wins a title, but I'm now less convinced he ever will, I think Kimi will start stamping his authority on things from here on in, and whilst nothing is guaranteed I'm quite confident that he has the skills and the mindset required to get the job done.
As for Hamilton, after last weekend, I'd take away his soup er licence.

I know that question is addressed to someone else, but as a fan of Kimi I feel that allows me to comment.
He may retire, he may not, whatever his decision I could only wish him well for the future, If he wants to get out and try other things, or just enjoy life after risking it for so many years, why shouldn't he, it's his life after all.
There are no guarantees, but I feel he can win this years WDC, and possibly next years too, and if he doesn't then either Massa or Kubica will, Hamilton wont, not this year, and not next year either, not going from what I've seen so far, but the reality is, who knows ? And who knows how long Kimi will stay, he's still there, he's still fighting, and more importantly he's still enjoying it, and whilst he's enjoying it, he's said he wont leave.
I see no reason to disbelieve him.

Re: Does anyone hope LH never wins a title!??
I'm hoping more than ever he never wins a title, just read an article, claiming he "destroyed everyone" in montreal. Pure arrogance, that is not confidence, he's crossed the line. The only thing he destroyed in montreal was kimi's race and his own for that matter.

Unless McLaren can produce a more superior car than Ferrari and BMW, most likely it will be difficult for him. With Alonso or Kubica in a Ferrari when Kimi retires, it will be even be more difficult and not mentioning Massa who is improving every season.

I agree, and whats more I think the McLaren would need to be vastly superior in every way, despite what Hamilton thinks, there are now even more drivers out there who are much better than he is.

Who?
Bearing in mind that all these other drivers will have to have beaten a driver of Alonso's callibre.
Which none of them have.
