    AM GUTTED!!!

Whats going on at the FIA (well i think thats so obvious now)

Bernie step in mate I listen to your interview a few months ago about why Silverstone was not a good example when you try and sell F1 world wide. What will this desicion do when you try and sell it what possible excuse can you give high powered customers for the obvious bais towards Ferrari.

Lewis and McLaren and the other teams are never going to win anything any more what does F1 mean no FERRARI 1 I think.

I've watched F1 since 1991 and knew that Ferrari got the decision but how can they possibly take this win as a matter of honour they should stand up and dont except it ,be men of honour you know what the right thing to do is.

The FIA should be scrapped in favour of a more honest system.

Wow I am not a Hamilton fan but this is completely wrong.  Yes he short cut the chicane but he did give the position back to Kimi.  The only thing I can think of is that if LH had not short cut the chicane then he might not have passed Kimi in the next few corners as he did.

McLaren better watch out as an appeal may get them an even harsher penalty.

Hamilton has been given a 25 second penalty for cutting the chicane.

    What are your thoughts Stigga?

I know you are a Kimi fan, but I was just wondering.

Hiya Steve, I was going to wait until all the fuss had died down, you know, let all these new posters have their rants and raves lol.

I've got ten minutes though so here goes, On instinct I think it was a just and fair decision, I say that given that we dont have all the info that the stewards have, so I can only base my opinion on what I've seen on Tv and other places, doubtless the stewards have much better info than anyone posting here.

It seemed to me that Hamilton did indeed gain an advantage which he never fully relinquished, doubtless of course others will disagree.

We all saw Ron Dennis on TV claim that he had asked Charlie Whiting whether the pass was okay, now, if Ron Dennis asked that question of Charlie Whiting, then Ron Dennis must have had his own doubts as to the legality of the pass. Ron also stated that Charlie Whiting told him the pass was okay, and yet today, it seems to be emrging that in fact it was Charlie Whiting who reported the incident, would Ron Dennis lie ? I'd suggest that if he did (and I'm not saying that he did in this instance) then it wouldn't be the first time.

I dont know whether you take a glance at Pf1, but it seems that after the furore quite a few posters who were initially as upset as some on here have looked at the pass again and changed their minds, concluding that it was worthy of a penalty, of course, there are still those that disagree, but I took note of what you said in another thread about McLaren fans not shouting about Hamilton getting away with things such as he did last year, in other words, its all down to personal interpretation and opinion, look at how many people on here are protesting about Kimi "barging" "shoving" or "pushing" Hamilton off the track, and yet, surprise surprise, thats exactly what Hamilton did to Massa in Germany, yet there were no shouts of foul then were there ?.

I wanted Kimi to win as you'll have guessed, and Massa being elevated does my preferred driver no favours whatsoever, having said that, yes I'd prefer any Ferrari driver to win it over Hamilton, but not by the FIA showing favouritism to Ferrari, and at the time of typing this (15:35 Monday afternoon) I dont believe they showed any favouritism yesterday.

shocking !!!! disgusting !!!!!! a joke !!!!! ...... what other terms can we use to describe F1 and The FIA ?

i am going to bycott all F1 from now on, and i have been a huge fan for many many years.

we lived through the "Schuey" years, and now this, JUST STOP FIA !!!!!! your not doing this "sport" any favours. i honestly thought this year would be a clean fight, and the outcome would be from the racing, but NO, the suits have to mess it all  up again.

take care F1, it was fun, but the time has come to say goodbye.

Sunday, 5am, hotel "La Source" - report by FIA observer...

Kimi and Lewis enter the last breakfast bar almost together.

Lewis grabs the lead cheese and ham sandwich from Kimi just before the bend before the checkout.

There is too much cheese so Lewis cuts the corner.

Realising that Kimi has been deprived (unfailrly) of cheese, Lewis hands it back to Kimi and tucks in behind him on the run past the sweet pastries.

Weighed down by the weight of the extra cheese, Kimi fails to run past the coffee counter fast enough and Lewis gets to the checkout first.

Fazed, Kimi slips of a spillage of Coke and crashes into the condiments counter, sugar, plastic spoons and (Red) sauce everywhere...

     FIA verdict:

    1) Lewis penalised 25 Tesco Clubcard points for failing to make Kimi a fresh sandwich and for not stopping long enough to wipe the spillage from the floor in front of Kimi before he slipped on it.

    2) McLaren given a $100,000,000 fine for supplying normal letteuce rather than ICEBERG letteuce in  the hospitality suite.

What do you mean, "What the heck are you on about? It's all total nonsense!"

Well, it makes as much flipping sense as Sundays outrageous decision by the FIA...

Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win

    Correct.

Plus Lewis went behind Kimi before he overtook him from the right hand side.

Plus Kimi overtook Lewis under yellow flags.

Plus Kimi hit Lewis from behind after he had been overtaken.

Plus there were numerous instances of 'cars gaining an advantage by using run-off areas' earlier in the race which attracted no attention from the stewards.

All very sad for F1, its' fans, teams and sponsors. It is high time F1 was taken out of the hands of the FIA; they are simply not competent, credible or ethical.

Come on teams, manufacturers and supporters; dump the FIA.

Just a thought.. If Lewis was 26 secs ahead of Massa at the chequered flag, would the stewards have penalised him by 27 seconds??

    Hi

Seen at Spa on Sunday evening,

Well known team principle ( not McLaren ) getting into his car in the paddock.

One of the race stewards walked passed and nodded in his direction, gentleman raised his clenched fist with middle finger pointing at the sky.

Thank you Mr xxxxxxxxx, and to the steward and his friends, that was from all of us at Spa.

    Regards

Sad [:(] Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win

I am appalled at this decision. I have watched F1 for over 20 years and this is the first time that I have felt disgust to this degree in the sport that I am considering boycotting it and just stick to Moto GP or one of the other real racing series. I'm that incensed that I have gone to the bother of registering on this site and saying my piece.

This is a BLACK day for F1.

Re: Hamilton Penalised, Massa Give Win

I really hope Massa refuses the trophy, coz I'm sure they'll be some sort of photo oppertunity at Monza of him receiving it.  A small gesture like that from him would speak volumes to the viewing public.  And I would certainly respect him for doing it.

But then again if it's at Monza, home of the red car, prob'ly very little chance of that happening....Angry

I have watched Formula 1 for as long as I have watched television, which at 39 years old is quite a long time now, and I am now becoming so disheartened with the way that decisions are being taken in private without any accountability that I am finding it difficult to enthuse about the sport anymore.

The drivers give their all on the racetrack and risk life and limb to demonstrate their skill and endurance for our enjoyment.

I do not watch the race and then wait with baited breath to see what the stewards will make of the race and what the ‘real’ outcome will be.  I didn’t after the last race and was not surprised to see that Massa had been fined for his very dangerous release for his pit box.  I didn’t after today’s race as I genuinely did not believe that anyone would want to detract from what turned out to be an extremely exciting finale to an otherwise processional race.

The evidence is unfortunately circumstantial but becoming overwhelming that there is one rule for Maclaren and another rule for everyone else, and it is circumstantial because the decisions are taken in private and without any accountability.

For example, ‘The Stewards’, who are they?  Why aren’t we told who they are?  And why don’t they carry out their investigations in public with the arguments from the teams and drivers televised, it might get better viewing figures than some of the races.

Unfortunately Lewis if you want an F1 World Championship title you might have to switch to FIArrari.  Mind you then all you will have to do is finish 2nd or 3rd taking it easy and anyone in front will be penalised for racing you . . .

Your name has interested me Rob. I worked with a Rob Shanks a few years ago in water hygiene, and your age is about right. If iv'e got the wrong person though, ignore this. Your post is pretty much what most people think though, not good.
