    Re: Jeremy Beadle 1948-2008

I was caught by Jeremy over 20 years ago for an edition of "Beadles About". Having got over the embarrassment of being "stitched up" by my so called friends, Jeremy was concerned that if I didn't want to have my humilation broadcast on national television, then he would destroy the tapes.

I'm glad I agreed for it to go ahead, as some months after the show was broadcast, I was invited to appear on the "6o'clock Show" to exact my revenge on Mr Beadle, which I duly did.

I was able to take my two young daughters with me, and after the show, Jeremy had them in fits of laughter with his jokes and antics. They even exchaged Xmas cards, and speaking to them last night, they still remember that day with affection.

Jeremy made people laugh, and that is a rare talent today, he also, as is well known raised thousands of pounds for his selected charities, aware from the glare of self publicity, which affect so many so called professionals nowadays.

I will miss you Jeremy, a little bit of humour has left my life with your passing, however for the brief 15 minutes of fame, that I had with you, I will be forever grateful.

Wherever you are, I'm sure the laughter is loud and long.

Movie Truly a pioneer in T.V, made us all laugh at other people's expense, but always in a humerous way. Will be sadly missed by those that enjoyed his humour. Will be missed by those of Ticehurst, East Sussex, where he was well known locally, as his mum lived there. He will always be remembered for his setups and stunts. The world has lost a great comedian and charity fundraiser.

    Re: Jeremy Beadle 1948-2008

I was an Eighties child and grew up watching Jeremy. His programmes were revolutionary - TV involving members of the public in such a big way. And at the same time, hilarious - i remember always looking forward to watching Beadles About at the weekends, and every now and again i catch the repeats on satellite.

Ive just watched the best bits of Beadle on this website - the gag about the alien and the dog toilet are fantastic and brought tears to my eyes. Timeless comedy from a man who was well ahead of his time in telly land.

Im now lucky enough to work in the media, giving me an even deeper awareness of how clever Jeremy was when it came to great television. You were taken from us too soon  -its a shame we didnt see you gracing our boxes one more time. Have fun with your pal Bob Monkhouse up there - i bet the laughs are flowing! RIP

    Re: Jeremy Beadle 1948-2008

Jeremy Beadle will be sadly missed. I was one of the few to be "used" to set-up some unsuspecting members of the studio audience back in October 1981."Yesterday's Prehistoric man Today" was the introduction by Sarah. While Sarah and I was off to film in Covent Garden, Jeremy and Matthew looked after my Wife and Daughter at the Studio, watching me on monitors.Memories are all we have. God bless, Sleep well - you've earned it.

    Re: Jeremy Beadle 1948-2008

I was deeply saddened to hear the sad news of the loss of one of Britains funniest and caring men. I grew up watching "Beadle's about" and "You've been framed" (it was so much better when Jeremy hosted it!). My deepest sympathies go to his family. God bless you Jeremy, we will miss you!

    Re: Jeremy Beadle 1948-2008

I had the opportunity to work with Jeremy just last summer in his home, helping him organise his library of thousands and thousands of books. He was a pure gentleman and by far the most knowledgable man I have ever met. He had read every book in his collection, and answered my countless questions about different persons through history. Even off the screen he was hilarious, constantly cracking jokes with my friend and I, and though I only worked with him for a couple of weeks, I will never forget them. My heart goes out to his family, and I know his memory will live on!
